Painting brake calipers???

I am going to paint my brake calipers soon and i was wondering if you have to sand them down before doing them?

they say you should. i didnt. i just cleaned them real good with a wire brush and just sprayed. mine came out real nice.

ya I want to do mine also soon - I think some new silver paint would look real nice. also, I was thinking about putting these on

Not feelin the decals.

I plan on painting my calipers after finals when I have some more free time.

Ya I couldnt tell...but for $8 I may just try them, I saw the RL calipers (maybe the new TL also...cant remember) that had the Acura on them and it looked pretty good.

damn, nice call w/ the decals. My calipers are black, so white might contrast pretty nicely w/ them.

i sanded mine down before i painted them....obviously you can paint them w/o sanding (as proven by nyzgreatest), but you might as well give them a quick rub down w/ sand paper. Takes two minutes per caliper.

Sand them ... if you don't, the stock ones will have a bumpy texture to them. I prefer the smooth surfaced, shiny look to calipers. My

Decals? That's your call.

the stickers look nice i just wonder how well they stick on a hot caliper in all weather conditions. I have a white tl s and im either gonna paint my calipers red or a more subtle black, not sure yet

Is removing calipers pretty easy?

I haven't done anything like that for years.

It was pretty simple to remove, just need some force but got them off.
