Painted Mud Guards???

Hey all, New to the TL family, Bought a 99 SSM w/navi. Was wondering if anyone has painted their factory mudguards? How does it look? did you leave the inside part black or paint the whole thing? Do they chip easily? Anyone with pics?

I don't think it's worth because you're gonna have rock chips anyway and re-paint them later. Just leave them black!!!

its probably only worth painting the outer part. It might be worth doing yourself. You would need to use flexitive primer first or the top coat of paint wont stick. There are small self contained aerosol sprayers you can buy for like $15 to do the painting. Then you will have an inventory of paint and flexitive in case you need to redo it a few times over the years.

This is just me opinion, but if you're thinking about painting mud guards, let bodyshop paint them for ya. You gonna pay some $$, like 100~150 , but you'll get satisfactory results.

Don't do it yourself if you're not expert!!!

I had mine painted 2 years ago. The shop wouldn't guarantee no chipping, but so far have not had any. I do notice some cracking on the right front one, but nothings pealed off.

For $150, it was a good investment. They look a lot better than the contrasting black ones.
