Have a 2003 Acura TL that just got a code for p1706. Neutral safety switch/transmission range switch. The Sympton I have actaully sounds like the exhaust has a hole or something and when I press the acceraltor it gets louder and louder. Transmission seems to shift ok. Does this sound like the switch or something else? I’m going to try and diagnostic the switch today or tomorrow but wanted to try and get a idea on what’s going on. Thanks

Doesn't sound related to me. Symptoms of a bad Range switch are typically, not starting in Park, but starts in Neutral or after jiggling the shifter. You can also shift into D4, reverse etc, and note that the dash indicator changes and your reverse lights work.
As for the sound, does it do it in Park/Neutral or only when driving?

Yeah I didn think the code p1706 was making th noise. I think I may have a home in exhaust or something came apart. Also the check engine light turned off now. Gunna check the coil the mechanic fixed and then check underneath car to see what’s making that noise. Will report back....
