Question Outside Temperature

Has anyone noticed any problems with their outside temperature readings? Mine were telling me it was 58 degrees when there is no way it was above 40 outside. It eventually went down to 52 (after five minutes), but I got out of the car before it could come close to the real temperature of 39 degrees...

I would suggest to you folks, to read the owner's manual. It clears up the questions you guys just raised.

The sensor is by the engine. You must be doing 35 MPH for it to be accurate. How stupid is that?

yeah, they shold have placed the sensor in the door mirror or something to be more accurate. I wonder where BMW puts theirs, those seem to work well...

Wink

The sensor is in the lower half of the front bumper, mounted in front of the radiator. Ambient heat causes it to be off until you drive around a little bit. However, once I get some airflow to drive away the ambient heat, I find that the temperature is very accurate -- and it doesn't raise back up if I sit in traffic. It's actually one of the better units I've experienced.

And, yes, all the pertinent information is in the owner's manual.
