out of windshield fluid
Hey guys,
I am considering buying Rain-X Premium Bug Remover Windshield Washer Fluid
( http://www.rainx.com/frame_auto_washfluid.htm )
Could the chemicals damage the TL?
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
-Tom

you know, I have this older rain-X pink liquid that you would mix with water to create your own washer fluid. it would 'recharge' the rainx that you applied from before. it works like a charm! instant bead gratification But I dont see it on their site I use it without issues.

The site doesn't list the ingredients. I'd send them an email and verify that it doesn't contain methyl alchohol...

Doesn't any washer fluid made for the winter have Methyl Alcohol? I know some have greater contents then others, but for those of us in climates that have their cold seasons, we need a washer fluid that won't freeze. Without alcohol how could they do it?

I wonder why a company doesn't make an ethanol-based product. It would clean as well, would have better freeze points than the detergent-only types, but wouldn't hurt hoses.

I just purchased the Rain X Bug Remover washer fluid yesterday at WallMart.
This is the green stuff that is protected from freeze down to 30 degrees. It also repels rain, mud & soil as it applies Rain X glass treament when you use your windshield washer. I filled the car up with it as it took half a bottle. I made the switch from Rain X winter De-icer Fluid.. This is the orange stuff & protects down to
-25 degrees. It Repels rain sleet, snow & ice. Also it removes Frost & light snow & ice. I did this because our temps have warmed up now. But in all the cars I have owned I never had a problem with any damage to my windshield washer. I owned my 80 Prelude for 15yrs. My 94 Accord I had for 6yrs.
I also had use that pink additive that Rain X had I did not have a problem with it. I would mix it liked they said but only got a few bottles of it. I had the last bottle around for a year & used it up in the TL.
