07 civic si would win unless they seriously mess up with their shifting.

Yes.

The 02-03 Type-S' are more of a close comparison to the Civic SI. I'm sure the SI will win. Are you stock ?

The 07 civic SI has a K20 that puts out 197HP... a stock type-s eats SI's.

It will be a close race, just make sure your VSA is off (if you have it) and mash the gas from the start. you should win

If you're stock, the SI will win for sure , 0-60 , quarter mile , etc. The exhaust wouldn't make much of a difference in terms of beating the SI. If you get intake, exhaust, headers, intake manifold gasket, throttle body spacer/gaskets, pulleys, etc., that's an even better chance.

I know, I was directing that comment towards the "The 02-03 Type-S' are more of a close comparison to the Civic SI"

Only way to find out is to race him. Let us know how it goes!

If you had all of those you would wipe your ass with that civic. The civic isnt that much faster than the TL if at all. The TL has a ton more torque that will help out more than its limited RPM range HP.

but the tl's are also pigs when it comes to the weight (not exactly light weights), so it needs the extra torque

I think it'll be close. The Si has 197 hp but 139 lb. ft of torque .

The civic isnt exactly light either at 3k lbs.

The Tl is 3500.

Unless the guy in the civic did a perfect launch (which in the real world isnt something that happens every time) the tl would most likely get a head and stay there

unless the civic launches perfectly you might be able to beat him. hopefully your race will end up just like this

still 500-600 pounds is alot of extra weight to be carrying around though, which basically offsets the extra power from the TL's V6 motor (let alone the 2G TL was only availabe with a slush-o-matic from the factory [which adds a couple of hundard pounds by itself], where the SI is manual, so more efficent at putting the power down [as far as drivetrain losses])

also does not help that the SI has 3 people in the car, where the TL is by themselves

And your point would be what? With its weight and significantly less torque and less power its at a disadvantage as well like the TL and its auto. Especially once moving and aero comes into play.

It wasnt bad, and thats the typical driver. Not many can launch a high strung motor without bogging it or smoking the tires off the line
