Orientation of slotted rotors

Which side do slotted rotors go on. One box says right, one says left. Honestly, they should say driver/passenger. Which way do they go on?

I read somewhere that the fins should point toward the front of the car for best braking.

Slotted rotors work best when the slots point / (front of car) They will scrub the pad and clean it better this way, but they will also wear the pad slightly faster. Ive run them both directions without any issues
