which optima battery fit 02 TL-S?
my current battery is in its final stages of its life cycle, and since I have a pioneer z1, kickers speakers, and an amp, I decided to get an optima battery since I heard that they are very good and last a looong time.
Anyways, could you guys please tell me which Optima Yellow Top and Red Top fits an 02 TL-S, thanks

I am running a group 34 yellow top right now. Fits fine, you might have to pull on the power and ground wire alittle, but it will fit.

Yup, just got my red top 34 group. It comes with the spacer to put on the bottom of the battery to match the factory battery height. $148 at Sams Club. I'm sure they are cheaper online, but I needed one since my factory battery died the other day!

Hit up Costco. The only ones they carry should fit the TL fine. The yellowtop is correct i think, but the redtop is a bit too small, but they all come with a cover which also acts as a spacer.

Yellow top at Costco is group 34, but the red top was the 35/75 one. The group size was different, as far as i could tell. Still does the job though, and I'm happy with it.

ok, I'm still getting like 20 different answers as to which red top fits our car.
first person says its group 34, second person says 25, third person says 35/75, then someone else in another thread said it was 75/35....
so which one is it?

Edit:
I see what the confusion is now. The Optima part number is 75/25, where as the BCI Group or whatever says 75/35.

34/78 OR 75/35 will work just fine (but honestly any of the redtops will work)

is there any difference between the red top 34, 34r, and 34/78?
i have a 2000 watt system, sometimes i like playing music with the car off or watch a movie (dvd through the hu). i know this has been discussed. but is yellow top that much of an advantage. would $20-30 more for a yellow top (of the same bci group) be worth it?

The Deep Cycle battery is designed to run a load
That would make it better for your purpose

Get the Red Top
About 8 or 9 months ago I had bad experiences with the Optima Yellow Top. I bought the yellow top a little over 2 years ago with no problems but It died after 23 months. I went to Advanced auto parts and the clerk (obviously in a good mood) gave me a free replacement especially, since it was out of warranty. 2 months later my car won't start, thinking the worst I thought I had to replace the starter since I didn't notice the typical dead battery symptoms, radio, interior and exterior lights worked perfectly fine. Took it to Acura to have it checked out and the starter and charging system where fine, guess what, dead battery. Get that one replaced, battery dies after a month. Pissed, I decided to replace the Optima for a different brand when a different clerk notices that it's a yellow top vs the red and explains that the red top is better suited for vehices where as the yellow is geared towards marine type use. He also explained that the cca (which I found very similiar in ratings) disipates diffently in the yellow top. In between getting the yellow top, I would put my voltmeter across the terminals every morning, read over 13 volts for a couple of days after install and then it would drop a couple of tenths a day until the car wouldn't start. Long story short, went with the red top and I've had no problems since. I checked with my voltmeter periodically and it consistantly has held a charge of 12 volts for about 6 months now. That it for what it's worth, this is just 1 man's experience.
