OPTIBLUE fogs.. pretty decent lookin..(pics)

i got some 9006 OPTIBLUE for ma foglights and they are WAY whiter than stock and can somewhat match the HIDs pretty well. im very happy with the results. but im a lil scared cuz its 80w compared to the OE 51w, plus i kno its not name brand so it mite burn out soon, but till then o well. also changed the turn signals to the Polarg M12 hyper whites. only half satisfied /w those, they look multi colored at some angles, and blink way to bright when signaling, hope i dont get caught. anyone use anything else for the turn signals??? thx

heres some pix

A word of advice.......if ur not using a heavy duty wire harness kit for those high wattage lights your gonna have to replace the lamp sockets in a few months.

nsxPilot,

yea im afraid of that happening, im acutally startin to love the lights tho. they are actually more "bluer" than the hids. the hids are more white lookin. where can i get an upgraded wire harness kit to handle the extra power??? is it easy to install??? plz lemme kno. i took a few more pictures that show the color even better, should have them up soon. thx

hey if u wanna even make them brighter .. get the 100 watt bulbs after u buy the harness .... u just have to shave off the tab on the inside of the bulb to make it fit in the socket .... i had all 9005's 100w bulbs in my legend.

If u plan to keep this car thou... i would think about investing in a HID kit for your fogs.....do a search ...there is no comparison ... and the hid bulbs will outlast the halogens by years. typically those high wattage bulbs only last about a year or less....so u do the math on the cost.

one other thing. will the foglight casing be able to handle the heat from the 80w bulbs. cuz right now when i touch the foglight lense after turning the fogs off, its so hot that it almost burnt ma finger. will it melt the glass housing??? will the upgraded wire harness keep the heat down to a minimum???? lemme kno. thx

Ive never put the high wattage bulbs in my fogs as my car at the time did not have them ... but because the cavity of the fog lights are much smaller the heat may become an issue some time down the line .... if you think this may cause a problem maybe you could drill some small holes in the housing to vent out some of the heat.....but this is only a suggestion.

Drilling holes in the housing might vent some heat, but it will also fog up in the rain.
I still say get the Silver Stars, cheaper and safer.
