Okay....I'm in a bit of dilemma here. Some of you know I'm looking to purchase a 01 TL. But here's my problem.

The guy I was selling the car to can't pull the money out the bank whatsoever. So I can't sell it to him now. Now I have a question, should I trade it in? I know I can't get squat out of the car, it's a 96 Accord Sedan...with scratches on the bumper, a dent on the fender, and a previous accident I was not aware of. And I don't have the stock springs and stock wheels. I can take everything except for those. Plus it's a V6, Not alot of people want this year V6. I know it will be just horrible trying to sell it to someone. My only bet is the dealership. This is soooo f^cked up...... What should I do? Cause let's say...I can only get 9K out of it...and the TL is around 28K, How am I gonna pay the rest of the 19K? Finance it?!?! Please...help me guys!

dude there is no way they will give you 9K for the accord, they gave me 10K for a 98 Rodeo 4X4 with 52,000 miles...damn i wish you luck but lets think realistically...you would do better sellin the car on you own, and when you do, you can always buy mine...bottom line, dont rush into things...Shyne

hahaha Shyne! This one Acura Dealer was willing to give me 8K..without the mods. And selling the car on my own would be pretty hard....I don't want to go thru the hassle..... I would take your car....but I'm not into Nighthawk Black.... :p Who knows.....Most likely I'm taking off all the mods that I CAN take off...the leave the rest.

I'm sure you can....a TL-P...haha! Besides....I don't want the new 02 TL because the new big headlights are not growing on me. and.....*IF* I was to get a new one...it would be a Type S with NAVI...which would be up where 34K is...riiight guys? This isn't helping at all.

Well my dad traded in his 96 accord sedan EX w/ leather and only got I think 7500? It had about 50k miles but was in numerous accidents because of me :o Practically everything was replaced except the trunk and the top. Good luck on selling your car. My dad only put like 7500 down but his mo. payments are around $600. You should be able to finance it lower now since all the rates have gone down..

foreal elegant knows his ****...the 02 lights havent really grown on me either...i feel like the car is too short to have a face that big...anyways, i would still take a TLS w/navi over my ride...but i still love my car everytime i sit in it and drive it...Shyne

Chinaman38, Wow..only 7500 sounds good...hehe due to the numerous accidents you caused!! HAhaha! :p My car just had one front end collision that wasn't bad enough to make the car salvaged. I think I can get more..I hope! Yes...this is definatly the perfect time....but I now must find a WDP w/ NAVI dammit!! Thanks bro, you just hit the right spot i was looking for....sort of...i just didn't like the 600 a month thing! I'm a cheap ass..haha! j/k!

I wonder if the memory seats work on the 01 TL.... Hmmmm.....HEHEHHH......Time to yank some ECU's...seats...door panels....intake manifold from a totaled TL-S!! And I have already seen three! mwahaha...thanks guys! I'm gonna go ahead and trade it in and sell the mods off to put new mods on the TL. Glad I got this solved...sort of.... o_O*

sorry to hear but if you don't hurry and decide about what to do, there might not be any new 2001 tl's left! you might have to trade it in if you are desperate. heck, just give private sale a try anyways...

The market for private car sales has been kind of sluggish from what I've seen. If you want to get rid of your car quickly, you're best off trading it in to the dealer, but make sure that they don't rip you off too badly.

Hurry up and get your '01TL before they sell out. What's the closest Acura dealer to you? I got mine from Mike Tran of Sierra Acura of Alhambra. He was a nice guy and didn't give me the runaround that car salesman are reputed too. Check out all the other Acura dealers in the area too to see who has '01s left if that's what you prefer.

p.s.: you're not going to be able to add most of the '02 mods on the '01 car though. Just taillights, wheels, and other misc stuff. Memory seats are very involved.

Just a question here but where are all you guys seeing these new 01's? I just talked to my dealer yesterday and he's sold out of 02's right now.

actually i have not been on an acura lot lately to peruse what cars they have, but ray/eleganttl is the one that said there are some left (like out in the claremont area). i think it was not new, maybe a demo, because i do recall ray saying it had some miles on the car.

Hey Stanley....I checked everywhere already. The '01 are completely gone! I'm looking into a used one now....with less than 20K miles...or 15K. But I'm not sure which dealership to go to, to have them locate a car for me. Most of them won't do it cause they'll think I'm not serious enough. I have found many white ones at Acura dealership, but it's not in this state. Maybe they can get it. Where did you get your TL-S Stan?

Josh, like I said above...hehe...it's all gone. I went to Sierra Acura, they have a Naples Gold w/o NAVI. I think. And it had quite a number of miles. Would you mind taking a trip with me to meet your salesman and see what he can do? My god sister knows a guy from there named Alvin, but she's too busy to go with me....even tho she lives in the same house as me...

Yes..the memory seats would be something of a task to do...All I know from what I need would be the driver side door panel..the seats, and I would believe the ECU since it controls everything electronic in the car.

PM me guys, Let call this "Project find Ray a TL"... hehe! I'm already tired of the Accord!

i got mine at pasadena. if they won't do it, you will have to call all the dealerships to see which one has a used tl to your specs...then go from there.

OH serious.......sh!t..I already went there, They won't do it. But the lady I talked to was real cool...I'll ask her again to see if she is willing to. I doubt it tho, she let me play with the Monaco Blue Pearl NSX-T there for as long as I want....oh man.....orgasm! HAHAHA!!!!! j/k j/k! I tried Metro Acura in Montclair, nope....Weir Canyon Acura was willing to, but that f^cker prob. thought I wasn't serious, he never called me back. I'm going to call him again. I tried Cerritos, but I don't understand how to reach Acura, cause their number is for the whole dealerships there. Not alot of the dealership go to Auctions and buy the cars...cause they said who knows what happened to it..and it's true. I don't really want a car that was on a Auction. I'm just hoping someone trades in there 01 WDP TL w/ NAVI.

Accords have a pretty high resale value if you sell it privately. Our 94 Accord EX was ALWAYS taken to the dealership for every service and the mechanic himself who always worked on our car is offering 5000 for it. The car has 165,000 miles by the way. Thats damn good for the mileage. But then again, we did spend a lot of money on service.

I think you can get about 9-10000 for your accord if it has ~60k miles on it.

Yeah..I hope to get that much out of it. But I still need to hand over like 7-8K to the bank to pay off the car. so that leaves me with almost nothing for a down.. O_O My Accord has 66K....considered low for an accord..! haha! What happens if I trade the car to dealer? but still owe money? how does it work?

I had 95 accord EX coupe before I bought my TLS. The dealer would only give me 6900 for it if it is all stock. The car has 70K miles, but it was in very good condition, no accidents, just minor scratches on the bumper. But I had some mods on the car so I know the value of it will be much lower. I ended up selling it to a private owner through online. Took a little while, but was able to sell it for near $9,000. So don't trade it in, you won't get sh*t for it. Actually, come to think of it, I wish I never sold my accord. I could drive it on the side.

Oh....I see...Hmmmm.....Yeah, If I sell it private I might be able to get more money. But the money will still go into paying off the rest of what I owe..and still leaves me with nothing to put a down... o_O* there has to be a way! I don't think a bank will give me a loan..i have no credit.....you think?

94 TBird that ran great (but had 120k miles)
Trade in -- dealers were willing to give me 1500-2500 tops....

I had it advertised for almost a year with few bites -- luckily I finally sold it -- but fo rless than I owed on it -- so it was upside down. Luckily I also found a TL under 20k
