oil in the tubes!
I replaced my spark plugs this weekend and found about 1/2" of oil in the bottom of the spark plug tubes on the front head. I notice that the seals around the tubes at the top were being squeezed out on one side by the valve cover. The rears were ok and tubes dry.
I cleaned out the tubes with paper towels and compressed air and then applied a ring of silicone seal at the top. I know this is only a temporary fix. I must have pinched the seals when replacing the valve cover during the valve adjustment. They must not be letting in too much oil as there is about 60k on the engine since the valve adjustment. Hoping I can get away with not replacing the seals till the next valve clearance check.
Can you get the front valve cover off without puling the intake? It's killing me to have to go through all that for such a dumb oversight.
thanks.
