Hi all

Quick question. My car is currently @ 60K.

I wanted to switch to Mobil One Fully Synthc, is there's going to be any problem ?

Also could I switch from 5w-30 and 5w-20 back and forth without problem ?

Go ahead .. its all good...Mobil1 is a great oil, you wont go wrong.
I prefer 5W30 over 5W20 just because I like the slight higher viscosity at operating temperature, but thats just me..

 

It depends on who you ask. Ask your mechanic and most likely he will say dont switch to synthetic from regular. There are many people on here who have done this and have had no problems. It may cause some risk of problems some cars - maybe, but not likely. I havent switched cause I really dont believe that there is that much of a difference.

My dads truck has 150000 miles on it - Chevy Z71 with cheep Phillips oil the whole time and no engine problems, my old ride 120000 miles same thing. Yes I know that there are tests that say synthetic is better, but these tests are done under extreme conditions - conditions that the vast majority of people will never encounter.

I just use the regular Mobil 1 oil with Purolator filter.

 

Use whatever you want. As long as you change the oil religiously, your car will last. Synthetic is just for an extra peace of mind.
