Oil Leak Updte. Plz read

I have an 03 type s and it has now hit 600 miles. My mom mostly drives the car but she has a light foot and usually accelerates slow and only really gets the engine up to around 2200 rpm's when she accelerates. After she drove the car for the week the car wasnt leaking oil. Now I drove the car and be it I go faster I didnt push this car cause its new and I only did up to at max 4300 rpms but when I parked the car and about any hour later it was leaking oil again!! Also the tranny when i shift from park to drive and stuff I can hear it shifting? Is that normal. Gonna take the car to the dealer tommorrow and tell them about the tranny and oil leak.

Hearing the tranny shift from park to drive is normal. However, you should not have an oil leak. Is the oil brown or red color. Red=transmission fluid. Brown=engine oil. Hopefully it may be just a loose oil filter, but get to the dealer ASAP. Even if it is the oil filter, and it comes off, you will lose all your oil. Good luck.

If it is not tight enough, the vibration from the engine could slowly loosen it more, causing a leak later on. Can you jack up the car to check where the leak is? Hopefully it is nothing serious

Also check the oil drain plug to see if that area is wet.

Also, I believe driving the car a little harder than your mom can increase oil pressure, therefore causing a leak from a loose seal (drain plug or filter). Like Rock said, check underneath or bring it to the dealer. Maybe you'll get a free oil change. Until you get it checked out, drive like your mom.

OOO no same thing happened to me. Cracked block casting. Crawl under the car and look around to find out wheel all the oil is going. The crack was right on the VTEC oil supply boss so that explains the oil lose only at higher rpm's. Look on the back bank of cylinders near the oil filter. Look for a line of oil running down the block. Hope this isn't your problem. :wow:

took it to the dealer and they were like it was a messed up rubber seal thing? So they replaced it w/ a new seal. Looks like its working cause car aint dripped today and I drove it kind of hard. Well see what it does over the next week or so.

Glad it was not a big problem. Have fun with the car!
