Oil filter question

Just changed my oil this afternoon. The auto parts store only had the oil filter for the 2000 TL. The Fram filter number was 3593A. The overall body is a little smaller than the OEM, but seems to fit OK. Does anyone know if the 2000 TL and 2002 TLS use the same number filter? The dealer is already closed. I'll try calling Acura tomorrow. Thanks.

Check this site out then decide whats best for you. Remember don't skimp on cost in this area, just kidding; read report. I spend $2.88 for a STP that is exactly the same as the $9.99 mobil 1. My next change I'm going with the Amsoil because I get it for $7.50 wholesale and per this tear down aduit it was the best made. Note I donated the Amsoil filter for this study.

Thanks for the replies. The catalog at the store I went to wasn't updated enough to have the type S. I talked to the dealer this morning and they stated that the 99 - 2002 TL including the Type S has the same filter. Maybe I'll look around for other filter brands. Acura charges about 8 dollars for theirs. I'm not sure how good the Acura filter is compared to other after market brands.

I agree the Fram orange filters are not what they used to be. Also if you can try and get a bigger filter thna your OEM one. The smaller it is the shorter its service life.

If you have trouble checking for engine parst for our car; like sparkplugs etc since its a 2002, check on parts for the CL-S since the engine is the same those parts like the oil filter are exactly the same.
