look for a bike with black paint on it. Did you report it to the police? If it was a kid it will scare the crap out of them.

I'd look for a kid in your neibourhood with a red bike, there is a little red paint on the bumper in one of those pics, that paint will be smudged on the bike or be missing off the bike entirely.. If you really want to get into some CSI investigation I'd start there, plus there's probably not 10 red bikes in your neibourhood, you might luck out and only have one. The height of the scratches could determin if the bike was a kid's bike or a teenager's , he probably hit the car with his handlebar first (if he didn't T-bone it)

Sorry to hear about that bro...damn kids, I wish they would all just grow up.. lol

By looking at the pics, I don't think this was an accident. The scratches are all over. How can a bike scratch the top of the hood?

You look like some guy I know.

Too bad about your car. I had some weasel run his ass across my rear door wearing jeans with rivets in the back.

Maybe the handlebar/brake grip got the hood. If I were you I would make fliers & pass it around the neighborhood. Im sure people would know who rides a red/pink bike.

thew neighbors saw "certain kids" around the car but when i approached the house the parents denied the kids responsability--- hard to deny when your kid has a scraped knee and two red bikes in the garage--no eyewitnesses so cops dont give a shi+-- insurance will fix next week once my estimate comes in.

The bumper paint should come off with a claybar and some elbow grease. At least you can save on getting that repainted.

Claybar you can get at any auto parts store. (They usually keep it behind the counter cuz people open the box and jack em.) It's basically like silly putty. You spray on some soapy water, and then slide the claybar over the paint - sorta like waxing. It'll remove tiny particles on the surface of the paint that regular cleaning won't get. Basically the grit gets removed so it's completely smooth, and then you wash and wax as normal. It's amazing.

Disclaimer: I do not encourage you to rip off your insurance company. With that said, if you know of a trusting shop, you may be able to ask them to charge the insurance to "paint the bumper," and then claybar it yourself and have them knock off the deductible. Of course, if the insurance is paying for it, I'd just get them to paint it anyways.

WELL .. me being one handed makes it difficult and very very exhausting just to wash by hand so ill leave everything to the insurance and body shop. so far that would be only $250 ive paid for this car. sad to see it go to a deductable instead of my soundsystem but hell cant complain it was a free car (no my daddy didnt get it for me) unless you call the government your daddy.?lol
