OHHH my God, guess what happened???

I just leased a 2002 TL-S, I am just surprise that I qualified for one of their lease. I just turn 18 like 3 days ago, this is so awesome!!!!! I am so excited.. I had the car since last night, it drives great. Can't wait till it breaks in so I can red-line the thing. Does anyone know if I can add a CAI intake on a Lease car, is it possible?? Well since all my friends are all young, age range from 16-19, they all criticize my new TL-S, they said it was a Granny's car. Those bastards said I bought an ugly car and I should have went with the IS300!! I guess I have to start making new friends, lol..

Congrats on your new car. As far as the granny car part goes the IS300 would be considered one instead of TL-S due to its power. IS300 does look more sporty, but in my opinion its is more in a ricey sort of way. Show your friends how fast your granny cars is compare to theirs. Either way both TL-S and IS300 are nice cars.

I"m pretty sure you can install the CAI intake on that car. Just make sure you keep the factory air box and install it back when your lease expires.

Congratulations on your new ride.
You can do pretty much anything you want to a lease (headers, springs, CAI, exhaust, wheels, stereo,...), just make sure you keep all the original stuff, and try and not alter the car by cutting the interior, or welding the chassis.
Enjoy your car, and take the break-in period seriously. Then, have some fun with your friends.

Imagine how embarassed your friends will be to have your "Granny Car" eat their IS300 alive and spit out the bones without working up a sweat! Wait until breakin though... Congrats on your new ride.

Thumbs up How did you do it?

I've been wanting to lease this car for a couple of weeks now. I turned 18 on July so I'm trying to let so time pass so I can improve my credit history. How did you do it to get your lease?, how much are you paying a month and how much money did you put down?. Do you think that it will be hard for me to get a lease on this car? a live in NY.

Hey Javue - I can't make any comments about the lease, as lending's not my game.

It just cracks me up that you drive a Riviera. My car before I got the TL-S was a 95 Riv, which I loved!!! That supercharged engine and all the luxury gadgets just made it a totally enjoyeable car to drive and own. But people gave me crap ALL the time about how it was an "old persons car" - and given that I'm 12 years older than you - I imagine you get some of the same comments!!

In case you're curious, I love the TL even more than my Riv!! Good luck!

Conrats on your new car! Your friends are just jealous, because they can plainly see that you've got a superior automobile. If you want to lose some of that "grandma" image, try adding the Acura bodykit or some new wheels. The TL is a mean looking machine when it's outfitted in some sexy clothes!

hey Javue

I put 2500 for the total drive off. I believe I got the car for 29150 and my monthly payment is 405, this is including sales tax, the actual payment without the tax is 376 a month. The reason they approve me was because I had a co-signer, without a co-signer i don't think I ever would be qualified to lease one. The car is great I love it!!!!love it... Much better than the 2001 eclipse I own... BTW, does anyone know the break in period for the TL-S..

Cool

Good luck with the new "baby". Break-in is 600-1000 miles (depending on how impatient you get. )

Welcome to the club. Enjoy your car and have fun.

If you are leasing your car, I don't believe you can do any modification unless you plan to buy your car at the end of the lease.

Well I kind of thought the same thing. I'm 28 now. I've owned serverals nice cars (93gmc stepside, 94 civic ex, 95 4runner, 96 4runner, 99 burb, 93 RX-7, 94 RX-7, and a TL-S. I can't really think of anything else that is much better for the money. Of coarse I could hope for a Super car or something, but realistcally speaking I feel I've own close to one of the fastest, best handling sport cars out there, and I feel I currently drive one of the nicest sedans out there. I currently have one of the biggest SUVs, so where do I go. I could upgrade I guess just to waste money, but I don't really think I need to. Me and my buddy were talking about this the other day. There's really no where to go significant. He drives an S2000, and he feels it's one of the best"all around" sport cars. He can't find a better car to buy with out going crazy in the money department. So I guess I've come to a point in my life that I'm not really gonna drive anything significantly better. I guess if I win the lottery I'll buy a super car just to have one in the garage. It still can't be significatly faster than what I've driven. Oh well....That's life when you live it fast i guess. For you though...dang you 20. Where do you go from here?

I predict you will kill yourself in your nesw TL-S

Let me give you some advice. You need to slow down and learn to be a good driver. I look at the fact your 18, waiting to redline it and I see serious trouble not only to yourself but to others who share the roadway with you.. Slow down, take a deep breath, don't push and just relax and drive your new car sensibly. I work in anesthesia and have see hundreds of drivers like yourself who either come in DOA or die in the Operating Room. This is good advice and free advice and if you are not a fool you will heed this advice and become a responsible driver..Take Care..
