Oh god why did i go to.......

Autozone! Fuck them sorry ass mutha fuckers! Yo check this shit out! I bought a AC compressor clutch BRAND FUCKING NEW mind you! I gots the shit on the fucking 26th of June and it failed today! Fucking rattling and smoking an shit! So I called Auto(fuck you in the ass with no love)Zone and after being on hold for 10 minutes some dude finally picks up. I tell him what happened and I was like "so I'll be by to pick up the replacement on Tuesday". Oh no that would make to much fucking since. Naw he tells me that not only do I have to bring in the busted part but because it needs to be ordered Autozone wants ME to pay for the new (replacement) part and they will reimburse me when it comes in! BULLSHIT!!!! Why in the HELL should I have to pay (a second time) for a part that they out right owe me? I almost want to go get the damn part from some where else BUT fuck it! I will deal with their shenanigans for now but I will never EEEEEEEEEEVER shop there again! And I say neither should you!

Anywhere I've ever had to return a part for warranty replacement required return of the defective part- that part makes sense to me-

It's expensive, but the right way is to just buy OEM replacements. Either at your dealer, on one of the online part stores.

Ummmm...............NO!

I know that got some deals and good prices. And you damn near can't find all that car stuff in one place. But the fact that I have to pay for my own warranty covered part, thats just lame.

Here is the normal procedure on warranty return/exchange:
If the part is in stock- you bring in the dead one and exchange
If its a special order, like compressor- you either bring dead one in- they refund and order new, OR, you pay for another unit- keep the car assembled until part arrives, and then return the dead one- get credited back on the purchase and done

Any business runs on paperwork. Parts stores need a return item IN HAND to make an exchange with.
What occured is a bummer BUT- it is part of normal life on Earth- get used to it

Heck I wont even use their coolant.

Actually, that makes NO "cents". If you buy a pair of special order jeans at Wal-Mart, take them home, and the button falls off, you don't go back to Wal-Mart, demand they give you a new pair of jeans right then and there without having the broken jeans in your hand to show them. They're going to want their jeans back BEFORE they give you another pair. In this case, Wal-Mart doesn't stock the jeans. You pay for them in advance, just like you did the first time, get your jeans when they come in and make the swap.

Why in the HELL should I have to pay (a second time) for a part that they out right owe me?
They don't owe it to you..........UNTIL the bad one is off the car and back in their store. How do they know you're going to bring the other one back?? They're just looking out for their bottom line, like a responsible business should.

I imagine, if you were anything on the phone like your post here, that surely didn't help your case any. I'd make you jump through all of the hoops also, and I don't even know you. Good luck.

Ya man. Autozone is awesome just don't try to buy everything there. You gotta pay money for the big stuff, Autozone is better for paint, batteries, cleaning supplies etc..

^^^lmao at your sig. What a clown

I try to buy as much stuff at my local autozone that I can as long as it isn't specific parts for our car besides brakes. The people at my local autozone are actually really cool and normally start up a conversation with me. One guy always hooks me up with his employee discount of 20% just cause I shop there for all the little shit I need. I even had a problem with brake pads and they took them back and just refunded my money instead of giving me in-store credit or an exchange.

actually for what I understand, you have to buy just about the complete rebuild kit assembly (clutch, compressor, dryer, etc) in order for them to warrenty their parts, only because of the fact the old parts could have played a part on yours failing.

reading the post sounded like a rap song

He must really like you to risk losing his job like that. That's a BIG just about everywhere, including my company.

Ya 02CL my people are the same way - super cool. I asked one dude for his opinion on some rim paint and after I decided to buy it he told me step by step how to get the best results without me even asking.

All that I can say is "use factory parts" they are the best, even if cost a little more.
