Poll: Who would buy the or Preorder RES?

Everyone that is interested in the RES please state whether you would buy the RES and if you would buy it in advance. We need to get a rough estimate on how many people would purchase this product so we can get these things delivered. The only thing standing in our way is financial costs so lets see if we can get this thing moving.

I'll buy the RES preorder.

Here's a description of the RES:

RES which stands for Resonance Enhancing System.
Basically it's a bolt on intake manifold plate that changes the airflow to create what they call the hemoltz effect.

Ericl explained it pretty well here:
"1. A cylinder opens a valve, and closes it a bit later. The air coming in wants to keep coming in. If an engine only ran at one speed, it would be easy to just design a set of pipes and a plenum that would be "perfect".

2. When the valve opens, and the cylinder goes down, it starts ingesting air. Air has mass and when the valve closes, the air wants to continue flowing (think inertia and momentum [air has mass]). The gas wants to keep moving, but the valve stops it. So, for a moment, there is an excess of pressure in the area of that intake runner. If an adjacent cylinder wants to open at the time that this pressure is created, it will get a boost from its "buddy".

3. Since engines run at varying speeds, what is an ideal set of pressure waves changes with speed. Waves will move back and forth in a plenum. The idea is have the area of max pressure sitting next to the intake valve of a cylinder ready to open.

Any method or device that allows the pressure waves to be increased at all speeds is going to get a boost in airflow with the subsequent increase in pressure.

Have you ever seen a picture of a standing wave????"

Supposedly it was a five minute install costing $300 and 10-20hp gain.

I would, as long as proper documentation on R&D + testing are available along with a warrantee to cover RES and Engine if anything goes wrong and is caused by RES.

This will soon be in the works. The product will be in a the $300 - $330 range. Don't know for sure. I'm currently talking to doug and Tim.

I'm also working on getting a sample and test it myself and have other members as witnesses. I will take mor epictures and create proper documentation and installation instructions. The RES will also come with warranty.

Let's do it guys, who's in?????

If the warranty is there with all the documentation including dyno, count me in! About 15hp for $315 sounds good to me.

Are our engines really that "inefficient" that a simple five minute bolt on causes an increase in hp?

I would've thought the Honda engineers would've figured out something as simple as this when they developed the 3.2L engine.

No flames, but I'll be sold when I see proof from different people who decide to install RES.

I combined Mr. Bo Jangles' original poll request thread with thephantom's actual poll thread to try and keep all responses (and votes) in one area.

i saw that number originally as well... but what doug has to realize is that its a little bit ridiculous... u can't have 200 people commit, without a single person having it... i understand that he needs captial but 200 people at $300 a pop is 60k... thats a huge investment for something thats at this point vaporware.... i'm sure he can get around 50 people (myself included)... but there's no way 200 people, much less 300 will invest in a product based on the word of two people who've driven/been in the car with that product... he will still have to put a lot of money out of pocket on the initial run, which is i remember correctly is supposed to cost about $90k.

Talking

Price $300 - $325

I'm working on getting this product out the door. I probably won't be able to the lower price, we will need to pre-sell about 500 units, once produce these units will be shipped out to the buyers. Hopefully we could reach that number, I see some interest, but I don't know if it would be enough.

The RES will work on 00-03 TL and 01-03 CL including Type S. Higher horsepower output for type S.

Please post any questions here and we will try to answer them. I will post new info as I get it.

Thanks!!!

BTW it doesn't work in my car(99), so I'm not getting one for free

you don't have to commit...this is not your investment, if number or amount is not reached, you will get your money back, that simple. Doug will have nothing to do with the money. The transactions will be done by Tim (autocarparts.com) and myself.

Please understand you will not be investing, there will be no risk to you the buyer. If we reached the desire amount of money then the units will be produeced and you will have the product.

We are looking at around 400 to 480 people.

I thought you were looking for 300 people at $300? Now you need 400-480 people at $300-$325?

People had a hard enough time waiting for the indiglos, and that was only 50...

And still there isn't anything on the silver ones, which kinda makes me want to hurt small house pets...

Why not sell the patent to Comptech or something? I'm sure they'd be willing to foot the bill.

If not then I would put up $300 if need be.

Has the RES been tested on a car long term? How many miles and how is the car doing?

bitum i think your mistaken on applications...this is a type S mod only...

Bitium writes: I'm not mistaken, it does work on both TL-P and TL-S same for CL's. We 99 TL's have a different manifold and it will not work. The HP output is lower on non type S TL/CL, just like the headers, but still very good numbers.

Once I see this mod actually works with proof from an actual member of this forum and detail pics of this device, I will be in as well. But I must see this data first. I have yet to actually see real pics of this device, and a real DYNO graph of it from a member here.

It just sounds too far fetched to be true.
