Odometer and tripmeter keep resetting.
Hello fellow TL'ers.
Have a question for the experts. I reset my tripmeters (A and B) to zero after filling up today. Start driving and all of sudden trip A is showing 771.2 miles and Trip B is something like 125.3 miles. Now that is pretty good since I have only gone about 2 miles. Now, I know it sounds like I have been hit the pipe pretty damn hard but if my wife and kid was not n the car, I would think I was experience flash backs of some sort. So, I reset the tripmeters to zero again and we drive off again, this time I am watching the odometer (86057) then at 86060 on the odometer I see that the tripmeters have reset to their magic numbers of 771 and 125. Now what is really mind blowing is that my odometer then reset back to 86057. Again, my wife and kid is in the car and we are all staring at each other thinking is this some lost episode out of the twilight zone. Has anyone had this problem before? The car is stock nothing has been done with it other then routine service. I thought maybe by dis connecting the battery for sometime and reconnecting it might reset what was going on. But that did not help the problem (did have to find the dang radio code tho) because it's still there. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Not sure what to say about that one. Something is wrong with either the ECU or the cluster. No real fix for those other than replacement.
