Odometer discrepancy (not here)
With all the talk about Acura's reading mileage higher than they actually traveled, I became curious and wanted to test my car out using my Garmin 260W GPS.
I reset my Trip B, and the trip on the GPS, drove to work and when I parked the car both of them read 47.1 miles. Also while driving with cruize control at 70mph, the GPS read 70mph 90% of the trip. It went to 69 a few times going up some of the steeper inclines, and 71 going down while the needle in the dash stayed at 70.
Anyone else try this using their portable GPS units? I want to test my fathers 05 TSX (auto) this weekend to see how his odometer/speedometer reads.

you didnt find a discrepancy because your data sample wasn't large enough. The discrepancy is visible after thousands of miles not hundreds or in your case tens. Test it out over 1000 miles and see what results you get. You might be surprised

I have tested mine before with the GPS and have never been off by much. After the swap it has actually gotten more accurate. (like my normal 214.2 mile drive to illinois, gps shows 213.3) Which is probably due to the 225/40/18s i had on it. I need to test it now that i have 235/40

I was 2mph fast speedo according to my magellan, and since the rim and tire change its dead on
The COURT decided 5%, so they may have been generous
It gives you an ~extra~ 5000 miles on the 109 trans warranty if you have a failure just past 109 and need some arguement room to get covered
Thats what it was really about- shorting customers on warranty period and denying a claim.

Just reset it again. This time I'll do it for the entire tank of gas. I forgot to mention I'm running stock rims/tires.
I'm not trying to fight the 5% case they settled on. lol I just wanted to see how accurate my specific car is at keeping track of mileage.
