Octane Differences

So I filled my tank with Sunoco today. I must say that I have been driving on this tank like a grandmother, but I'm not sure if i see the difference in gas mileage improvement yet.

So far I have driven 60km on this tank, and the needle is about 2 notches from the full line. Now when i fill up though, the needle is above full.

I think that there are 9 lines between the full and half way point, which means that I'm at 3/21 notches for the full tank

so if i do the math, that's 20km per notch, multiply that by 21 and you get 420km. However that is essentially until the gas light comes on. I do know that with the gas light, you can drive an additional 100 km, which means I would get 520km in the city.

One thing though is I drive with the A/C on all the time. Unfortunately in Toronto it's humid and therefore can't live w/o air conditioning.

Does anyone have suggestions on how else to improve the gas mileage on the car? I should tell you that my tank was half full when I filled it with Sunoco gas, and still had half of Esso gas. Therefore it wouldn't be fair at this point to criticize the car seeing how only half of the gas coming out is of higher Octane. I will fill up a couple more times, and keep you guys posted.

Does anyone really know the expected improvement going from 91 to 94 octane?

And is there a better oil I can use instead of the one Acura puts in?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I put this in every 7,500 miles.

Octane ratings are nothing but resistance to detonation.

Keep your foot out of it all you can. Tires inflated to 35 or 36 lbs all around or so. More Octane allows the ECU to advance your timing alittle for a few more horses, and THAT gives you more power, but only when you're really accelerating (passing power). Otherwise 91 octane is all you need. Synthetic oil may help alittle too. That's all I can think of!
