i wouldnt believe the vortex thing too much. youre not likely to gain much power from spinning the air, usually the manifold is shaped to do it for you.
but the idea behind the spacers is that they are called 'phenolic spacers' and meant to cut down the heat soak of the metal to keep the air charge cooler. the manifold spacers are the same idea. and they have been proven to work to some extent. so if you gain HP that's pretty much why. the sound is just a bonus
what we really need is to revive the damn mystery mod and get it made

"with the increase height and the OBX spiral flow design creates a vortex airflow that greatly increases power output and fuel mileage" Sounds like the spiral max. ![Roll Eyes](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
I've been dying to try this thing, but I just haven't gotten around to purchasing it...

this is interesting..
this is both throttle body and intake manifold spacers..
and they show actual dyno results.

[QUOTE=@cUr@-TL]bigman has a tb spacer, helix i think. he once said he gained like 5hp.. and the hissing sound ![Wink](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I had the helix spacer on my v6 accord. The hissing sound is more like a constant whistle and with an intake it’s very loud sometimes annoying. As for HP you really aren't going to see any that’s just my feedback Not even close to a turbo sound that’s what got my attention with I came across that little gadget, so I had to try it just to see what it was. Took it off about a week later and sold it on eBay. :shit: .

[QUOTE]
im interested too, but getting a tb spacer would imply cutting 1" off my intake.. i guess that's not a problem tho..
@cUr@-TL
If that is true, does that mean i have to cut 1" off my comptech intake?

Might have to consider that purchase, although installation might be a bit of a pain ... taking off the headers and all.
BTW- How come on the list they only show the '99 TL and the '97-99 CL? ... There's no application for the '00-03 TLs.
"Outlaw Engineering ThermoBlok spacers are thermal insulating replacements for your stock intake manifold and throttlebody gaskets. Made from a heat blocking phenolic laminate, ThermoBlok spacers increase power from your engine by keeping the intake cooler." <-- Oh and this might not work for people with headers since it says its made to insulate your stock intake manifolds. It may not fit right with headers ... although it says it replaces the stock gaskets, and for aftermarket headers the OEM gaskets are compatible. So maybe not

Hm apparently some people on A-CL.com tried the Outlaw Engineering Thermoblok and it will in fact only work with the '99 TL ... No '00-03 TL or CL love

Hondata is definitely not some BS company either. I would imagine the gains would be similar for the J32A as well ... Although I don't know if I can really believe the gains that they show on the Oddysey (the graph looks like it gives almost 15whp... As much as an intake alone?).
