Obx Header Installed!
went great! even though there was some welding due to a previous exhaust issue! the collector ports were 3/8" smaller than the stock manifold, which we bored out to match up, that took 1/2 an hour ! the stock manifold is sh*t! just because those ports are bigger means nothing! look at the what should be downpipes, it's like a one big uni- block! there is like no air flow compared to obx or comptech! it was raining like a b*tch while i was going home, so she hasn't had a real run, but i was doing 80mph and she was pulling hard! opened her up 110mph! and let off, too rainy! good for 20 hp! and with a 1/8" washer you can keep your neuspeed lower tie bar! there's more than enough clearance! i'll post some more later, got some goodies for off topic! 1100 hp funny car! and a few more!

if the header is in great condition like mine was, as oppossed to some sh*tty welds on some others that i have seen! there are no real mods you HAVE to do, but when the headers arrived , the collector ports and down pipes were a bit jagged inside, and there was some weld marks, and i smoothed all of that myself with a dremel and tungston carbide bit! then touched up the internal pipes with some 1500 degree high heat aluminum paint. ( do a search, the pics are in here somewhere?), before we installed the header my tech bored out the collector port holes with a 3/8" drill bit to make them a perfect fit for the cars manifold! the ports on the obx are just a fractional bit smaller than the stocks, no big deal! 15 minutes per collector, maybe less. install should be no more than 2 1/2 hours!
Thanks for the info. I don't mean to scare you but when I was calling around for the best price for the OBX headers, a few distributors actually tried to steer me away from them. I found out two things about OBX: 1. The impression I got of them now is that they make cheap quality product (a lot of peeps said that their sh!t cracked after a while) and 2. They actually copied an old Comptech design (~3 yrs ago). Comptech has since rev'd their design. That would probably explain the fitment problems people experience with OBX.
Don't mean to burst your bubble but keep us posted as to how your headers are going. Good luck!
