Unhappy OBX Header Installation Question...Need Help!!!

I am installing my OBX headers tonight and I just need to know
Which header goes towards the front, the one with the OBX tag or the other one.

Please help, I am assuming the one with the tag but I thought I read on a post somewhere that it goes in the back. Thanks in advance!!!

It should be pretty self explanatory since it only fits one way. To make it easier for you my tag is on the rear header.

It only fits one way after you try putting the downpipe, but the each header would fit on both front and back. YES the tag goes on the back. Good luck.

Job is done. Went great!!! Only a few very minor flaws with the bolt hoes on the headers and one of the seals, but I was able to get it installed in 1 hour 20 minutes at a class that I am taking (with a lift and air tools).

Awesome power!!! and no resonance issues at all. (I hope that it doesn't happen later).

If anyone has any questions, please ask me while I have it in my head. Definate recomendation. Undeniable increase in power!!!

i would love to make my 1st mod be the obx headers. where did you get yours? i saw a post with a link to co. selling them for 335.00 thats only 10bucks a bhp(approx)what a deal. I've always done my own maint. work but still worried about touching my new car. major consern is breaking a manifold bolt in the head, did you use new ss bolts? do you think with good mech knowledge and some ramps and desent tools i could make "half a day of it"? just need that vote of confidence.thax

I bought mine from Dailod for $335.00 shipped. Let me know if you need his email address.

You should have no problem doing it yourself. I had no problem loosening the lock nuts from the manifold bolts. I think you should be able to get it done yourself in 2 or 3 hours. Mine was done in an hour but it had a couple leaks that needed to be retightened. Good Luck...

For all of you that know about header installation.....I recently got the comptech headers for $859 shipped, and I want to know if I'm going to be able to use my old header gaskets or need new ones. My 99TL has 60,000 miles. The dealer wants $40 for new ones. My buddy and I are planning to install them this weekend. Anyone out there install comptech themselves? Was it easy?

That is a great price for comptechs. The OBX ones came with aftermarket gaskets which worked fine. I called acura and got a quote of $17 each gasket so I decided to try the aftermarkets.

Definately replace the gaskets, OEM or not, to get a correct seal the first time.
