OBDII code -- O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction -- need help quick
I got a CEL on two days ago, and had the code read at Autozone.
It came out as O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction.
What does this mean? I installed OBX headers two weeks ago and nothing was wrong until now. I pulled out the O2 sensor just now (it's the primary sensor, by the way, not the on in the catalytic converter) and it looks fine visually on the outside.
I had the code reset, and it came back on as soon as I restarted the car.
I'm guessing that the headers are dumping more exhaust gas and unburned fuel, and it killed the O2 sensor. What do you guys think?

nope. no one here has expierenced O2 sensor failure due to headers.
In a perfect world, you would put the factory headers back on and take it in to the dealer so they will warranty it.
otherwise, just go get another O2 sensor, either OEM or Bosch or something and be done with it.
If you cleared the code and it came back instantly, its not kidding.
Something may have happened during the header install, or it could just be a coinsidence.

We ran some test on the broken O2 sensor, and the heater circuit just quit. It's a coincidence, possibly faulty from the factory. Exhaust flow doesn't have anything to do with the heater circuit.
I'm going to call Ann Arbor Acura tomorrow and see if they would replace the part.
