NOVA tint recommendations?

OK, I'm going to be getting my windows tinted soon and wanted to get some recommendations for tinters in Northern VA.

I want a professional shop that will tint over the dot matrix on the rear window and has tint that won't interfere with the radio/navi.

Any recommendations? How much did you pay?

thanx

I got mine done at Quality Tire, which is close to Potomac Mills. I think (its been a while) I paid $160 with their 10% coupon that they offer online.

They did not do the dot matrix area at my request. I have heard good and bad stories about the tint affecting the GPS, and I did not want to take any chances since I use my NAV regularly.

Overall they did an excellent job on the tint. My only complaint is that they did not clean the soapy residue after they were done, which I thought was kinda lame. They do use high quality tint, and they guarantee the installation and film for life of the vehicle.

Good luck!

I just got my tint done yesterday. I got 35% all around. I live in VA.

He did one piece across the back and over the dot matrix. It looks sharp.

I have Navi and it has NOT affected my Navi or radio reception one bit! The brand of tint used was SunGuard.

Hope this helps.

Where in VA?

I'm probably going to get 35% around too, but don't know if I want to put up with the BS from the law..

the matrix is basically a sunshade... some places apparently don't tint it because the raised bumps make it hard for tint to stick

I paid local shop in Manassas VA. Paid for 160.00. I did metal tint. It shines and better than charcoal colors. Not too much black and shines.

Do you have a navi? Have you noticed any effect on it? What was the name of the shop?

thanx

I thought that the navi used the antenae on the back. Doesn't the radio use the dot matrix?

I had my windows tinted in VA, but I cant remember how much. They usually tell you what is legal and what is not.

Just one suggestion. Make sure that it is done in a "Clean" environment. Don't let them come and "do it while you work." You run the risk of dirt getting under the film, and they have to use more water&soap solution to keep it from drying too fast.
