Angry !!!Nooo!! Its GONE!!!

Its gone, my dad traded his perfectly fine noble green TL type S for an ugly ass red infiniti G35, the acura dealer didnt give him a good deal on the 6 speed CLS so he went and bought the G35 with navigation (i like acuras better). let me tell you, i had fun in the TLS. I took a ride in the G35 and i drove it (it handles pretty good) but when i was riding in it i was ashamed to be in it. the interier reminds me of a a T shaped box with a few cerves here and there. i dont like the car at all, every time i go to put somthing in the recycling bin i see that car just sitting ther and looking like a wannabe a rich people car but falling short by a mile i dont understand my dad

(btw: no offence to anybody that likes the G35)

i agree that the interior is cheaped out to the max

but you pay for what you get, it has a nice engine and chassis, but nothing more, about a while ago when Renault(?) took over Nissan, Nissan got a bit of money and started to renew their lineup, because they're trying to make a statement with their engine and chassis, they ran out of money very fast
and because nissan does not have a market for high price cars, they make cars seem nice on paper that are actually cheap in quality and workmanship... a car that is good looking and fast and quiet and luxurious at the g35's price? get out of here, that's what bmws are for! anyways, obviously nissan ran short with cash making the interior and the rear-end of the car, lol~

i don't understand why nissan's doing this, they obviously have no money to revamp their whole line up, and did everyone see their new M45 or something?? :yack:

i can see you're in pain!! :p start working and making money and get your own dream car by yourself! good luck

overall, it is a nice car (except the looks). Hopefully, it will grow on you and you'll come to like it. If not, then get yourself a pic of the G35 coupe and just "pretend" until you buy your own Acura TL-whatever Type.

I test drove the G35 a while back and I must admit that it is growing on me a little (so is the Max), but I still like the looks and feel of my TLS better. I agree that I am not thrilled about the G35's interior (or most nissan's) but it's not crap. Anyway, this comparison has been beaten to a pulp. Both cars are great and I hope that Acura/honda doesn't disappoint with the 04 TLS cuz they have a great car as it is now!

Mantis23, you have a CLS correct? Make sure you smoke your sister for us and notch one for the Acura boy's!

i hate the g35 inside and out, but i do like the m45 from the 2D stuff i have seen. i reallly need to see it in real life before i can make the call, and if you can get a good amount of options with that V8 for close to $40K, it's gonna be a good deal.

pics might help, but people can only see poor ergonomics, nothing more
one really has to sit inside the g35 to feel why the car is that price, the interior is not BAD, but just not up to par with others cars of the same price (TLS, I35), all that money went into the engine and chassis apparently, an exceptional one at that

i do like the exterior as well, just not the rear lights, and i suspect a car looking like that can get old fast once the trend changes again

I don't like the looks of the g35, looks so...fugly...my g/f and I don't usually agree on a lot of things, but two things we agree on, our TL-S looks good, and the G35 doesn't look good LOL

I'll say this much...after 2 failed trannies in the TL-S, I am glad to be driving my G. I never liked the pictures of it when it first came out; it looks much better in person. It looks FANTASTIC in black. Time will tell if the styling gets old. I think it is understated and just unique enough to not be too overstyled. I agree the interior looks better in graphite rather than the willow color, but I like the lack of all the wood on the console...looks much cleaner to me. I love driving the car and the way it handles. It will snap your neck back in the seat at the slightest provocation! It rides smoother and quieter than my TL-S did, and the exhaust has a GREAT sound, even at idle.

Some people just don't like anything made by Nissan/Infiniti or Toyota/Lexus and are married to a brand. To them, everything other than a Honda product is crap.

I did love my TL-S too and hope Honda can get the tranny issues resolved before they lose too many loyalists.

I agree that the G35 in black looks pretty sharp. Saw one the other day around work and I would have loved to have seen what it could do but the car went left when I went straight. The car does look better in person but I still love my TL!

I'm not sure if I would love it as much if I had tranny issues but I'm not sweating it right now because that is what the warranty is for! The TLS is a great car but it could, and hopefully, will be made better! It is only lacking three things for me: AWD, .3 more liters of displacement, and DOHC. Oh, and a better tranny to handle the additional power from the greater displacement and DOHC! I personally don't need a stick, just more power!

Base on what the 03 Accord looks like, I don't think Acura will do much better in the design department for the 04 TL.

By then G35 will be the better looking of the 2 and it may even have AWD available. With 260HP and 260 Lb, RWD and staring @ $2K less than TL-S, TL will be desperately doing catch-ups.

interesting because this is your guess, the way you picture the future TL... the current TL looks nothing like the current Accord, why do you think the future ones will look alike?? and where you hear about the AWD??

i agree, but many people say good things about the cars they own, or things they own, i think the g35 is great sports car in sedan's sheetmetals! but like you said yourself, when you own the g35, you think it's better, i drove them back to back, yes the g35 is superior in the handling department, but not more so in ride/comfort and interior is just not well-thought-out
the car looks SHARP in black!! in fact any colour, just the rear lights looked out of place

Gotta tell ya, I love my G35, I got the Dark Metallic Blue, beautiful color!

I was originally going to get a TLs but I didn't want an outdated looking car when the new model comes in 04 (not to mention the tranny issues which are constant on this forum). I'm nothing short of impressed with the G, great car, NOT EVERYONE has to like it, but I agree, the photos DO NOT do it justice... I love it, one of the best cars I have owned (vettes, Z-71 camaros, toyotas).

One other thing, I was discouraged about getting an Acura because I wanted nothing to do with the type of crowd (not everyone, just a crowd) that seems associated with them. It just seems everyone is lowering, clear lensing, decaling such a nice car, it's like they're 'cheapin' the cars reputation.. this is my opinion.

You have no clue what you are talking about.

The VQ engine on the G35 has been out for 8 years. Nissan didn't have to spend much to put that engine on the G35. The chassis from the G35 is the same chassis as the Nissan Skyline that came out in japan for a few years. Nissan also is sharing the chasis of the G35 with the Nissan 350Z.

There is nothing wrong with the interior of the G35. Of course it is not lexus or benz but the price tag on the G35 is not 50-60k either.

The G35's interior has cool features such as automatic popup navi and RECLINING rear seats. Some of the things the tls doesn't have.

The G35 is same as the Skyline sedan in Japan (not to confuse with Skyline GT-R, the supercar). And they have already offered Skyline in AWD configuration for more than 9 months now. It won't be hard for Infiniti to start importing that as well 1 or 2 model years down the road.

As for the new TL looks, I'm purely guessing. But the only guaranteed I can make is Honda will NEVER build any car as beautiful/controversial as the G35 (well except the Element but that belongs to ugly/controversial category).

With the G35, Nissan goes for "LOOK at what I'm driving!" factor, a lot of people love it and some hate it. But Honda like to shoot for "I don't mind being seen in this car" styling. People stare at it for 2 seconds, knows it's a new Honda/Acura and continue on with their lives. It just doesn't stir any emotions.

Well, first of all he was dissappointed with the Acura servce and he had a lot of paint problems.
Second of all,me(well kinda)...i was somewhat his source of aftermarket performance info on his car sence im home all the time now that schools out.and when i found this site and explored it i showed him it and hes been hooked ever since, then when the trannys became a big issue he didnt want to push he TLS hard.<<(thats a big problem for us...we have the need 4 speed )
finally he just couldnt take any more and gave up, and the Acura dealer didnt give him a good deal on a CLS 6speed so he went and bought the sorry G35:yack:

ill post pics up next week

i can think of a lot of words to describe the g35 but beautiful is not one of them.........that car is fugly....period....................yeah honda doesnt know how to build beautiful cars.......NSXs and S2000s ...............the only car honda has built that might be equally as ugly as the g35 is the Insight.....its sad that car is more technically advanced than anything nissan/infiniti makes

Well I see OhioCLS6 is still up to his classy ways, it's cleary apparent you have some jealousy issues that need to be addressed.

Why not take a deep breath, and calm down.. no need to blast the G35 everytime you get a chance... it's just a car man, why are you so threatened by a car?

And don't ask why I'm here, I still like the Acura, I have no problem admitting that.. they are nice cars and I like to see what's going on in the community (those who are not so threatened by cars that is)

You are calling the G35 ugly while driving this hidious thing

Just to let you know the tls didn't come out until last year and it is already old news. The G35 has been out in japan way longer than the tls has been out.

In 99 their was only the tl with merely 200 hp, hardly anything to jump up and down about.

hey guys let's not start flaming each other!! we all love cars, and we should all see cars from an unbiased viewpoint, not just defending our own cars

the g35 people think i hate the g35 when i say the negatives about the car, they don't see that i also say positives about the car

perrymaxima:
that photo looks quite good because it hides the rear end of the, which has major overhang which is not "the thing" anymore (or was it ever??) and the overall proportions just seem kind of off... sorry that i was a bit rude i guess :p and how lod is the RL (the project honda never really care about) again?

I have to admit... the G35 coupe is pretty awesome... I saw one in person yesterday in Santa Monica... it had a "dealer" plate on it (probably belonged to someone high up in the company)... I took pictures... but it's NOT a digital camera... so I don't have them develope yet. I'm sure you've all seen tons of pictures on line... but seeing it in person is truely impressive.

the coupe looks awesome!

funny how they could manipulate the rear light like that?
the coupe lights look much better than the sedan's IMO but they're almost the same shape! very interesting! :p

Xtrema,

Many of us are aware that G35 is Skyline Sedan in Japan... and many of us also aware that it's offered in AWD config... but have you check the engine that couple with AWD?? It's 2.5L, not 3.0L/3.5L...

BigPimping,

"In 99 their was only the tl with merely 200 hp, hardly anything to jump up and down about"

True to that.. but where was G35 back in '99??? Cars advance over the time... and I am pretty sure that 5 years down the road, TLS/G35/M45 will be out-classed by something faster, better, and cheaper....

I don't know what's with all the hates... every car has its own share of strength and weakness.... and G35 is NOT in the same class as TLS and vice-versa.... They might be in similar price group, but definitely target at different buyers.....

I don't think that those of us who are actually adults and actually own and appreciate these cars have any hatred at all. My wife drives an 03 TLS and I am seriously considering getting a G35 for me. I think they are both fantastic cars and a superb value.

People like BigPimping only come here to try and create the hatred. You probably already realize this but unless you just enjoy bantering with this guy he is merely trying to get a rise out of anyone who might respond. It's only my opinion but I don't think his posts are worthy of acknowlement much less being taken seriously. I find it easy to believe that he may just be a < 25 year old troll who also happens to be a car enthusiast who once admired the TLS and now is in love with the G35. Folks like that may believe they can exalt themselves and their status by pulling down others or in the case of this forum, it's focus which is the TLS. He's a pitch in the dirt that shouldn't be swung at. Of course, that's just my opinion.

BTW, I wouldn't be surprised if he has been here for a long while but under other (banned) user names. Remember TypeSAcura?

By then G35 will be the better looking of the 2 and it may even have AWD available. With 260HP and 260 Lb, RWD and staring @ $2K less than TL-S, TL will be desperately doing catch-ups.
whoa hold on here
can you please tell me the specs of the '04 tl?
thats right, THERE ARE NONE
and what will it look like?
thats right, THERE ARE NO PICS
stop speculating.

It just doesn't stir any emotions.
beauty is all in the eye of the beholder or whatever.
the g35 coupe looks nice. the g35 sedan on the other hand looks like crap. it looks so narrow and tall it looks retarded.
g35 coupe > g35 sedan x100000
