non working front driver side spraker

I just got a 2003 TL 3.2 and the front driver speaker isnt working. I have taken the door pannel off to see if the speaker just wasnt attached but it was so thats not the problem. A friend suggested i try locating the stereo amp to see if its connected there. Can someone please let me know where to find this amp? I know the sub amp is in the rear but im looking for the stereo amp. Thank you!

your car does not have a stereo amp. It has the deck plus the Bose equalizer unit which is right above the deck. I would see if you're getting a signal to the speaker by checking it with a meter.

This question is for fedcrom. My 2003 tl w/o nav has just recently lost the four door speakers, but the large one on the rear deck still works. Could the problem be the equalizer. And is it infact directly above the head unit. In searching other sites, I found a great pdf regarding the accessing of the head unit. But it shows the climate control as being attached to the HU. A parts blowup looked like it was referencing the area under the dash above the drivers knees. So I am confused. I was hoping for some good direction before I attemp a replacement. At 67, I don't bend now like I did at 27.
