just installed a navi system from an 03cl into my 02TLS. everything works system powers up then i get to the security code i enter my code and it does not work. called corporate acura and verified the pin number i have is the right number. anyone got any ideas? is there a master reset for the security code? did i not hook something up right? i know some ppl say they have trouble entering there radio codes and sometimes they gotta drive around for it to work does this happen with navi users too? any help ive been beatin my head for the last 2hrs

I know I've read somewhere on here, either the cl or the tl forums, where someone had a similar problem. It appeared that the original owner had changed the security code.

nj i did the install myself not bad at all alot of splicing and u def need that helms manual

gaping i was thinkin something along those lines im wondering if anyone knows if theres a master reset for the unit. only other thing im thinkin is that the dvd unit is damaged somehow but when i open the door on the dvd unit i get an error message on the screen sayin to check the door or the disk. so the dvd brain box does have some communication with the screen.

i put the car back together figuring i just need to figure out the security code problem and itll be fine but what sucks is i cant access the ac controls.

nj- actual install time alil over 2hrs im not counting the time it took me to page through the helms manual and map out the connectors and the wires what goes to where and watnot. i did that on and off at work when i was bored.

vtec-theres not much to take pics of everything is back together its looks all stock basically was just a mess of wires lol.

i tried to enter the navi code while driving no luck. im gonna call acura when i get a moment and see if theres such thing as a master reset. theres a diagnostic hookup on the back of the navi unit anyone know if acura has some kinda special tool that they use?

update after alil research on the forums here i found out that there is a pin code and a security code. im gonna take a guess that the number acura gave me is the "security" code and i need to crack the pin code that is set by the user? searched alil more and found a way to reset that using a default hidden screen on the navi using menu/map/cancel but for some reason i cant get it to work on mine am i doin something wrong? i cant get past the enter code screen. this units out of an 03cl anyone know if that trick works on that yr navi?

ok after alil more research and another call to corporate acura they told me i could reset the pin code. guy told me to hit "setup" then "other" but for some reason my "other" button is not highlighted and i cannot push it. anyone know why that would be?

Maybe your touch screen is malfunctioning. See if you can select it with the joystick control.

i am trying to get ahold of a wrecked tl or cl to take the navi system out of... i was going to get one but the guy stoped responding to me.

bob- i tried the joystick, but for some reason because that "others" button is not highlighted i cant access it at all. i figured maybe it happened to someone else here and i could get some sort of solution how they fixed the problem.
