Non Navi 03 TLS

Hey everyone. Im a newbie. Read up a little on the forum about the non Navi TLs converted into Navi. Is it worth installing the OEM Navi? I read up on some of the thread that there is no updated firmware for that years TL. And for the guys that did install it to their Non Navi TL. Was it hard to install. Thanks

1. Welcome.
2. No, it is not worth the effort or price to take a non-navi to navi. You have to find a donor vehicle, and buy some parts that acura may or may not have... too much of a hassle... With a bit of money (~$1200 or less), just get a double-din cd/dvd/navi unit from Pioneer or Kenwood and have it professionally installed. Good luck.

If i were you I'd just go for a double din with navi, more features at a lower price.

well if you're like me and had an old tl-s with navi..you'll never want to go back at looking at the ugly boring climate control instead of having that navi there.. it's like something is always missing.. when i got my new tl-s.. it had no navi and had the stock headunit.. i put a double din in the stock headunit location in the summer, and just finished the oem nav conversion over this winter break sometime in late december.. was it worth it? definitely.. the look of having that screen instead of the ugly climate control was worth it alone to me.. to have a navi and to control the climate control in a touch screen is definitely worth it.. it all depends how you look at it. i got all my parts from njzprettyboy when he parted out for a great price..search around, you can find a good price..theres an entire navi system going for sale in the black market right now. had to do some modding to his wiring harness and stuff, but in the end it works and looks great

What's up. I'm new too. Listen if you got the money go for it. I got the navi myself and love it compared to the cars with no navi. You know you could probably find another kind of in dash navi with a radio that would probably look and be even better for the same price.

someone is actually selling the navi setup in the "for sale" section with a lot of the parts you'd need.

the advantage: its stock and less likely to get stolen
the disadvantage: you could get a lot more for your money (and just a little more )

Thanks for the info everyone. It would be nice to have a stock unit. Look more flush and clean, but it does lack on feature and the screen is smaller. Ill probably look into an aftermarket navi system. Any reccommendations? I will probably get the OEM lip kit first now.
