No TL-S 6 Speed.....
OK, you guys can flame me, but I would assume that most of you know I don't talk out my butt, but I have to post something from an "unnamed source". I do not want to ruin a new relationship I have stumbled upon.
At a recent get together, I found myself at a gathering of Honda employees!!! These guys are stone-solid verified technical-type sources.
What I found out is that while the Accord will get the 6 Speed, the '04 TL-S will not. I repeatedly asked are you sure? I told them that would be a mistake. The answer was NO. An emphatic NO.
Also, what I heard about the early TL-S tranny would make your hair stand on end!!! :wow:

Are you suggesting that the newer TL-S tranny's don't exhibit the same problems as the first ones? For example, the 2003 TL-S's shouldn't have the same rate of failure that the 2002 TL-S's had?

I have gotten mixed answers. I personally believe they will. We will not know until is actually out.
Go ask the same group you asked about a recall for 99's??? if they say yes your source is good, if no they don't know crap.

from a business point of view, i think we can understand why honda is not putting manual in these cars because, honestly, how many people will buy these stick shift family sedans? us, maybe, and the magazine editors... but a lot of people buy the accord or the TL for its easy-to-drive nature, and i don't think the majority people would go for the manual version

BTW - My friend's mom said she wishes it were stick, she would have gotten it (some people just love driving sstick and don't mind it) Not flaming, just venting on why I think they should do it

Then why would they buy the Type S? Why not just get the regular TL? They should make the Type-S stick and the reular TL should stay auto. This way the "enthusists" will get their performance and the "family people" will get their autos.

The tls after all is not a sports sedan but is a family car.
Great for driving the kids to soccer practice on sundays and so forth.

Putting a manual in the tl, even the TypeS doesn't make much sense. However, having the manual in the Cl-S does. I read lots of articles saying how Cl-S and regular CL sales are not doing so hot, the market for large coupe not so great. I"m hoping for an accord coupe type-R, oh man, so sweet. Plus on a side note, how come european accord's look so much more badass. It sux!!!.

What does a cl-s with modified intake edging out a bone stock G35 with auto tranny have to do with this topic. Handly anything to jump up and down
Oh yeah just incase you didn't know. you should compare apples with apples, not stock 4 sedans with auto to modified coupes with manual trans.
If you really want to see something funny look at the cls vs the G35 coupe in a few months. Now that is a joke.
