Nitrous Kits? Which is best??

Hey all,

I did some searching on Nitrous in the forums and found a lot of threads discussing whether it's safe to use this shot or that shot and i've heard about the NEX and a little about the Venom...

But i was wondering if you guys could give me a basic idea of how much it costs for the kit, installation, how safe it is... what the pros and cons of each one is and how they work...

I'm looking to get a nitrous kit, but i don't want to blow up my car or have to worry about shifting the gears in SS and accidently letting it redline and all...

Can someone give me a list of options i could go with in regards to getting a nitrous kit?

Thanks a bunch!

-Rob

id go dry and use ZEX!

Zex is controlled by a computer module not solenoids like others. Its been known that the solenoids can malfaunction and spray to much or just not work properly.

Im debating getting a Zex wet kit for my turbo setup which would work great but i dont think my axles/half shafts can take 300whp

do some checking and see which application best suits your needs, id say for sure safe with a 50-75 shot, after that id be looking for supporting mods.

I'd go with a wet kit in your application. They tend to be safer than running a dry kit. In terms of safety, as long as you don't abuse the kit (spray more than 15 seconds, spray all the time) you'll be fine. You'll probably want to invest in a tranny cooler since additional horsepower (whether nitrous, turbo, or SC) adds more stress to your transmissions. Having a tranny cooler will help the clutch packs from frying when transferring the additional torqure to your wheels.

Zex appears to be the safest and the most idiot proof.
