The 3A at nine inches were about an inch too long for my TL-S without a bodykit.

I opted for the Pilot tips from JC Whitney. Same or better quality than the 3A tips that I looked at from Pep Boys.

I guess it's all a matter of taste. I don't have the body kit, and I actually liked the 3 1/2" tips. I think they look a little sportier.

Be careful with the Pilots, they may need to be welded on!

I'm pretty sure I ordered some Pilot tips from J.C. Whitney a while back, and when they showed up, I realized that they needed to be welded on....no bolts to attach them....I ended up returning them.......you may want to call them first before you go and order them.....good luck!

Read the descriptions - it tells you which ones can be bolted on.

Is the correct Pilot part number PM552?

This is 2.5" max pipe inlet. 3.5" diameter outlet. 8" length. Anyone know?

If it is, it is definitely a BOLT-ON application. No welding necessary.

See here:

Also, for those who have these tips. do they rattle at all, or do they fit snugly over the existing pipe?

Thanks.

No rattling if installed correctly. Be careful when tightening the bolts. The female side of the threads(tip itself) are a thread tapped into sheet metal so they are prone to strip easy. Tighten them evenly and use a liquid thread lock if you want. I also protected the bolts with some paint after I installed.

Thanks for the installation tips TUFF GONG.

Can you confirm the part number for me? PM552? See dimension sizes in my original message.

Thanks.

i am planning to get 3 A exhaust tip from this site. I just wondering. when you install it, can you see the pipe inside? It look ugly if you can see it. About the the 3 A longer, i don't mind at all because I have a body kits. I think it will cover that. Let me know any of you who install the 3A exhaust tips.

Yes, that is the correct part number and the one that I purchased though JC Whitney. They bolt on to the existing exhaust pipes.
You can see the pipes inside if you look closely, but I think these tips look better than stock and are a better length than the 3A tips. I will try to post pictures later today.

I have the 3A Racing tips but I presumed they are both of similar in design . The 3A's are the perfect tip for Tl's with the OEM kit, IMO. I never thought I'd have bought and installed "Tips" (I.S.O. exhaust) but it's much better than stock.

Calvin, yes it's somewhat visible. I'll take some pics today and post how they look later.

dj5 and TUFF GONG,

I appreciate the replies.

Seems like a very simple, cheap mod to dress up the rear. I like those!

Gonna pick up a set. I'll post pics when I can.
