I don't know about yours, but when my I90c is anywhere near the center console or under the radio it interferes with the radio pretty consistently. I leave my phone in the door pocket.

So if you come up with something that works, please share.

Its NEXTEL service. I had NEXTEL and dropped it for AT&T and it no longer has interference.

Hmmm. I dropped the ATT and went with Nextel. Admittedly, the NEXTEL has more interference, but the ATT also had that annoying click when changing towers. ATT's service in the RTP area is pretty bad. I like my Nextel much better even with the added interference.

Sorry to muddy your topic Yaron. Consider it a free bump.

It's all about the freqency/protocal people.

Glossary:
CDMA = Code division multiple access
TDMA = Time division multiple acces
GSM = Global system for mobile communication

You probably won't have any problems with GSM phones such as T-Mobile, SBC, Singular, Pacbell, VoiceStream or the New AT&T phones (the old AT&T aren't GSM based) GSM is a wirless protocal which runs at a freq. of 1900 MHZ in the US and 1800 & 900 MHZ in Euro-Asia.

Verizon and Sprint which i will say ARE the best and will dominate the Mobile sector. Why? Because they are using CDMA protocal, and this is the most "upgradable" protocal out of the 3. GSM and TDMA will be slowly phase out when CDMA2000 and CDMAX are released. CDMA run on 800 & 1900 MHZ

And last you have TDMA...which i would say is at the bottom of the barrel. AT&T used this protocal but is not switching to GSM. AT&T will still provide TDMA service to the people on their current plans but they will phase that out. Nextel aka iDEN is basically TDMA based...the only difference is that they build their own networks and they are the only ones who use them. So you won't get "All circuits are busy..." like SBC networks because you have 8 different providers using the same resources. TDMA runs at 800 & 1900 MHZ. Since TDMA is a time division protocal, it uses direct freq. manipulation, i guess it will interfere with the radio unlike CDMA or GSM.

NEXTEL is gonna run into some trouble in the future. After 9/11, the FCC (federal communications commision) had to look over the freq. spectrum and had to enforce/restablish the emergancy radio band. The FCC is planing to kick NEXTEL off that part of the freq. spectrum because on interfecrance with the emergancy band. Intel also "owns" part of that spectrum.

i have had the i90c for about a year now and it works well for me...much better than cingular and at&t. i have seen a very nice phone holder for the car...it has an ~2"x2" pedestal (~5" tall) with a 2-axis swinging arm for versatility (it's like azimuth and tilt on a dss dish). unfortunately, i haven't been able to find a good spot anywhere to mount that so i did not buy it yet. phone mounts in back first and it allows for the lid to fold up. not sure about clearance at the bottom for the power and data connectors. fit is pretty good, but it is not a secure (ie, clicked) for easy removal.

Same problem here. It's happening consistently whenever I drive to a certain part of the highway. It looks like the speakers are not shielded. BTW, it never happened when I was driving my Sienna.
