Here is a link so you can get “DeansblackCLS” contact information.
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=149811

I bought my UR crank pulley for $165 last summer from a local speedshop.
Here is their website: http://www.grdperformance.com/. They also did the custom tune on my Unichip.

dale, just like with every mod, give the computer a few days of driving to get all the new information. Even when I installed my V2 intake, I reset the ECU, but I still think it took a day or 2 to really be able to tell the new power was adopted.

from what I hear, the pulley wont give you a big increase at any particular point - like with headers, VTEC is like WOW!!! But with pullies, you will have a consistent increase in power, plus your engine will rev much quicker - Im excited for you also! I want a new crank pulley myself!

thanks dude, appreciate your insight! Firestone said they would not install for me because its against their policy to install customer supplied parts. What a crock of shit. won't do it because they can't mark up the parts 500%. greedy bastards. Got to look else where for another shop to do the install.

just call around for a tuner shop that specializes in Honda/Acura cars...there are a few around here. They give much better install prices because they know what they are doing

LOL sounds like a plan! im not sure if the type-s filter is the same as the tl-p filter. I am so tempted to get an IceBox, but it still i think its still a lil steep for an intake, i might just end up getting an Injen. I definately like being lowered, makes taking turns way more fun, but go ahead and bite the bullet and get aftermarket struts when u get ur springs, or better yet, coilovers! u know how it is, once u mod, u cant stop! let it riiiiiiiiiiiip

Seattle Dale:

Just wondering: once you get your UR pulley installed, your Unichip settings will no
longer be good for your new settings. Do you plan on having your Unichip remapped
in order to obtain optimal gains?

i was told by a couple of members that i would not to have to have my unichip retuned for either pulley or intake. i was askin the same question earlier. on the other hand i might get it retuned anyways, because when my tranny blew, they put in a new ecu. Even though i requested to keep my old one. Car still runs real strong even with the new ecu.

the reason i really want to go with the ice box, is because i hear a lot of the other intakes make your car sound like a vacuum cleaner going down the road sucking all that air, don't know anything about the Injen. Are they loud & annoying?

yeah good point! Injen is similar to AEM so its louder tahn the icebox. I wouldnt mind the Icebox if i find some spare cash, but thats after im done payin for the suspension upgrades and the killer system! or maybe ill take a break from the syste and buy an icebox inbetween

I cant hear the sucking sound unless I floor it, during normal driving it sounds pretty much stock. I like it because if I want it to be quiet, I just keep it below VTEC, but if I feel like scaring the people next to me, I put it in SS mode and down to 1st gear and hear comes the ROAR!!! You dont get that sound with the Icebox - you will get some extra sound - much like no intake resonator and a K&N filter; but not the badass sound of a real CAI. For some reason our engines sound much better than some with a CAI - must be the VTEC

It could also be they don't want the hassle if there are problems. Was it the customer supplied parts or their installation that caused the problem? When they supply both, they're responsible for both.

how do the gains compare between the different intakes? what kind of intake do you have & what did you pay for it?

I have the AEM V2; that and Comptech Icebox intakes give the best gains...then the AEM and Injen regular CAI's are the same - within a slight margin of error. I got it used off this site for $190 shipped - good deal!

yup - true with all CAI's. It was kinda annoying for the first few days, but now I dont even notice it - the humming I mean. The hissing/sucking sound is what I was after - I missed that sound from my previous truck and the intake on it. I really havent played my stereo more than 1 or 2 times since I got it!!! I love hearing the subtle sounds when crusing and the ROAR when I punch it!
