Nex

Well let's just say they go all the way. Because my car goes until the pavement is holding it off the ground. And it will jack up to stock height. The ride is great although they do squeek alot in the cold.

Here it is jacked up for a ride to a car show in Toronto.
I normally drive with the tires tucked in the fenders.

The NEX is great the ride is good the height adjustability is good and is easy to adjust

Daniel I want to bring the car higher but I cant turn it anymore I have heard that for me to go higher I have to take out the suspension. Is this true? Also, I have like 2.5 inches left to go up but it wont turn anymore

new is a COMPLETE setup so all you need to do is swap out the stocks and put in the nex...just some wrenching. having the setups complete means it's easy to go back and forth if you want, or you do not have to pay someone to install them. new touts that it has a double height adjustment...most coilovers compress the spring to lower your ride which can cause stiffness and limited vertical travel. so nex allows you to adjust from the bottom...you twist the lower tube body upwards to shorten the height of the strut. thus the spring height and travel and is not compromised. the only thing about metal upper mounts is that they will not absorb shock like a rubber mount...therefore, the ride can be *harsh* to some people.

apexi's require the use of the stock rubber upper mount...the "cap" that tops of the springs. once you remove the stock units, you will need a spring compressor (safest way method) to aid in the upper mount removal. as you can see, it's not straight swapping...you need to disassemble some stuff first.

If you're adjusting it how do you know that each coilover is at the exact same height as all the others and not off by a few millimeters?? And how do you adjust the height? DO you have to jack up the car to adjust or can you adjust from the top like the stiffness for KONIS??

i believe the proper way to adjust coilovers is by corner weighting the car. you place scales at each corner and adjust accordingly till the readings are the same. however, i doubt if most people actually do it this way...most just use a tape measure while the car is on level ground (possibly lots of trial and error before the desired height is achieved). this leads to something interesting...if a car is not corner weighted, do you think "tape measure"-adjusted coilovers can cause atypical/strange/uneven tire wear??? but you should jack up the car to relieve stress on the threads and lock washers before adjusting them...cleaning and pre-lubricating the threads with silicone lubricant is a good idea prior to adjusting.

To lower it to the ground,
First the front has to be driven up on blocks, drop it and then drag it off the blocks. The back is simple just jack it from the tow hook.
Although the last time I dropped it for a show I bent the rad support when the front wouldn't go high enough for the jack. So now the front end is a little off line. I'll fix it in the spring, no big deal.

Slammedtl in order to raise it what you have to do is jack the whole car, undo the bolts holding the bottom of the shock and then loosen the bottom adjuster, or you can also just grab the strut by hand and try to turn it. That works for me sometimes, especially in the back.

The Nex set-up is good for show purposes, the truth is they're made in taiwan and not really the best set-up, they squeek alot. But if your building a show car then there the best because they drop a total of 6" in the front and 9" in the back!

And oh-yeah I went through 9, 19" tires between June and October last year, I guess this year I'm doing a camber kit.
