I think it's nuts, and not because of the weather. It's the terrible roads/potholes that will get you. That's also the only reason I didn't lower my car.

If you are getting 18s then just drive carefully. Are you planning to lower your ride? If yes, then be extra careful.

IMO, if you are getting rims then definitely lower your ride to make it look much better.

BTW, welcome aboard!

I am dying to lower mine, but I will do it as soon as the winter is over. Yes, NYC road sucks, but here in jersey, it sucks as well. Oh well, be careful where you drive.

If you dont want your car to look like an off road vehicle, i would strongly suggest lowering your car. You can lower your car without sacrificing ride quality too much. Some springs are stiffer then others (h&r, nuespeed), i would go with COMPTech. I have them and the ride is still very good. I havent tried the others but thats just what i've read.

NICE WHITE TL-S:
You can lower the car with H&R OE's for about a 1" drop. Or get a little lower with some H&R Sports...I'd go against Comptech because you're paying the extra cash for a name...my H&R Sports perform as well if not better than Comptechs (with a smoother ride) and cost $160 shipped 2 day. Pretty darn good. And you'll just want to get 35 series tires with 18's...with a high offset...45+, to give you good clearance.
