newb question

ok im a big fan of burning out and since i got my car 4 weeks ago i like to do it alot. i dont do it as much because i can see why i pay for gas more often then before. but anyways i still like to do it on ocassions just because i know my 03 tl-s can do them, so my question is; what type of damage if any does burning out in your car do to your engine or tranny or whatever it may effect besides the tires? will i end up having to pay dearly for it later? should i completely stop or just not do it as much and if so is there like kind of a limit to how many times you should do it? i just dont wanna end up breaking something in my car sooner or later

....why WOULD you do it? IMO trade it for a busted civic straight up, someone can love it better.

burnouts are not cool.

im waiting for a new thread from the op that his trans went out and what should he do. have a feeling that its gonna come soon. when i was younger i thought that burn outs were cool too. but with burn outs comes a lot of money out of your pocket. then i thought that 2nd gear peel out were cool and 2-3 gear chirps. now ive stopped completely. mostly bc my 3rd gear blew and its not worth it in the end.

burnouts WILL DESTROY UR TRANS and YOUR TIRES and YOUR MOTOR MOUNTS!! so unless ur a baller thats got money to throw out keep doin it. if not just stop. buy an old school civic or integra and do burnouts in that. treat ur car good and itll treat u good back. beat up on it and ull be just like everyone else that gets stuck on the side of the road waitin in the heat for a tow truck.....

And tell me since when has ANY ONE here fucked up the trans from spinning the tires???? The trans are not weak, especially in first gear where you are taking off from. Sure long term there may be some wear but its not like your doing trans drops. Now if thats the case id say to stop.

Motor mounts will suffer thats for sure.

Burnouts look sick on RWD cars, I think they're on FWD. That's just my opinion.

For all of you that said that burn outs are not cool, thats stupid because we all know that we love to see a good burn out! On a TL though? Now thats the stupid part lol. I used to love it on my 5.0 but common bro, the TL just wasn't built for that.

tranny can take it, but its more the torque converter/flexplate and motor mounts that suffer. the surge in the torque that gets applied puts stress on those parts

ticket for exhibition of speed $200 3 points on license
ticket for reckless driving $250 3 points on license
ticket for racing $350 3 points on license
Max allowable points 5

someone will get a deal on a slightly beaten TL while the OP is on the bus~

Georgia has this too. If you rack up X # of points within a given period, your license is suspended or revoked.

nobody i know would be driving

thats dumb... sometimes people get caught doing things they dont exactly mean to do.. to suspend a hard working persons license because of a couple speeding tickets and maybe running a late yellow light would be retarded...

now people the ebrake around every turn and run stop signs.. yes, revoke that shit..

i understand what you're saying, but at the end of the day it is your (and mine) responsibility as a driver to know and obey all laws. the law considers the offense - the time period is different for certain offenses (1 year, 2 years, etc.), but you shouldn't make these kinds of mistakes often: reckless driving, racing, speeding more than 20 mph over, etc. right?

I think its rather easy to do in my TL-S. I do it ocassionally, but its mostly by accident. Turning onto a street, leaving from redlights on the gas too much, etc.

Tearing my car up is definitely not on my to-do list.

you can get a ticket for going 5 mph over.. most of us do that numerous times a day... not putting anyone at risk.. just all depends on the dick level of the cops...

and yea blah blah blah i have family who are cops.. and they know they are dicks too so nobody flame me for hating on them... i hear the stories of pulling people over out of boredome..

i agree we should follow the law... problem is... about 1% of people actually do... so in theory.. i think the point system sounds like a joke.
