New Vid with Magnaflows
This is a vid compilation of some pics and a couple small vids me and Rondog from A-cl.com did. Nothing special. He has a 2001
CL-S with AEM CAI, OBX Headers, and HKS axle backs. I have a 99 TL with Injen Cai, Obx Headers, Full Cat back mandrel bent 2.25 inch piping with inline 2ft magnaflow resonator and dual mirror finish magnaflow mufflers. Also this video shows off some custom work done to my front end. I got backed into so i took the chance to repaint the bumper and fix things up. I painted the center line of the lower grill, and painted the upper grill body color, let me know what you guys think of the looks and sound.
PS the car is a mess.

The rain killed it... We will do it this weekend...
Im surprised not that many people have comments about the exhaust, or the painted body parts...

no one has really been checking the video out, because it has on ly been downloaded a few times. Either people dont have the time anymore on this board or something else. I would figure i would get some feedback from my a-tl guys, good or bad. The a-cl guys and the "other site" gave me feedback. Whats up a-tl, no love.

Dude that video rocked. I feel now that my car is being neglected. I must get my car to sound like that. How much do I need to get sound like that. I have a 03 TL. Check out my pics in the member gallery. Good directing and editing on the video. I couldn't wait to hear what it was going to sound like.

The magnaflows are cat back. Just get the accord b pipe from them with the inline resonator and get the oval cans with the rolled tip. They come out to around 500 and the install was lik 50 because the guy had to extend the pipe and make a new piece to fit the cat.

From a local speed shop, they are a magnaflow dealer and had the exhaust in their warehouse. I ordered it in the morning, they had it like 2pm and i had it installed at a local turbo shop/

The b pipe is the pipe all the way to the mufflers, y pipe and all. The TL Sis around 2.25 until it hits the y and becomes 2. THe TLp is 2 until it hits the y and it becomes 1.75.
Red Hot i asked the same question and the guy told me that going 2.5 would be too much of a back pressure lost. He said that the torque would really drop and Horsepower would gain only really high in the rpm. Our motors dont rev high enough to take advantage of it. He said even if i was to go with forced induction, i should still run 2.5 inch piping to the y and make the y pipe 2.25 inches. I really noticed more torque throughout the rpm band, but the boost in horsepower from 3800 rpm to redline is ridiculous. The other day i had three runs with rondog from the CL forum. He has a CL-S with I/H/E and i actually pulled away from 50 to 125 by about a car and a half. Then we did it again, he got the jump on me and i stood even with him till about 125. On the last time, we jumped together and i pulled about a car from him till about 125 where we kept going. It could be that i can reach higher speeds in 3rd while he hits 4th, but you can even ask him, he was amazed at the power. For a 99 to even hang with an 01 type S, that is saying a lot. But to say a 99 pulled is saying way more. Seriously i felt more with the cat back on highway than i did with headers and intake. Maybe its the combination of all 3.

big man -- what benefit do you get from getting the entire catback vs. just enlarging from your Y pipe to 2.25? I understand that you wanted the magna resonator, but what other benefits are there? I like the sound though. I'm gonna try to download the vid again to pay closer attention to the grill & muffs, but that takes about 30 mins on dial-up!

Well it didn't take as long as I thought. I guess 'cause I had already downloaded it. But its really hard to see the Muffs on either car. But the Front end looks great. I was thinking about painting my grill as well, and making it flush with the lights.

no loss of torque, i can actually break the wheels harder now. And once i hit around 3800 rpm the car pulls like a beast, so if i am rolling at like 20 and stomp it, it will downshift to 1st and break the tires loose. The car is a whole different animal now.

All magnaflows are the same unless you have the universal stainless. I have the mirror finish with the tip. Mine were deeper without the resonator, but with the 2 ft resonator they quieted out. Look at my new vid, instead of dying out up high, they sing with the intake.

part numbers
You're exhaust absolutely kicks ass. I want to make my car sound like that (or at least as close as possible). What are the part numbers for the resonator and mufflers? Did the dealer give you any grief about the exhaust affecting the warranty? I have a bone stock 2003 TL-S and hope it will sound almost as cool coming through the factory manifolds and cats. Nice work.
