what up all ... new member checking in and requesting some help from the fellow members ...

2000 tl with issues

1. car dies out of know where:
it will die while driving-and then have to due a whole process to get it to start back up. like lock all door get out of the car and click alarm the manually unlock the door . then it might start .... think it may be ignition switch or alarm system
.... I reg. on the acura website and the car has to open recalls.... one for the ignition. and the other for a tranny warrenty upgrade on the warrenty or something like that


2. the alarm remote does not unlock all doors:
. only driver door . and trunk button work the panic button sounds like the alarm horn is dyeing.......I have tried to program the remote but nothing


3. the master window controller:
it does not control the rest of the windows. I can lock the rest of the windows from the master controller. so the user of each door is locked from using the window but other wise I have to manually open the window from there switch . which really sucks if your alone in the car cause then you have to spread around the car ........
I have tried to reset the master controller but only auto down works not auto up

4. power locks :
the power lock button does not seem to send the command to the rest of the doors . I can hear the clicking noise .. the door lock seems to move buy not enough to lock or open the door............ unknown

Sounds like maybe your battery could be weak from what you're describing. Also just a few heads up: there's not an auto up feature for your windows. Also to unlock all doors with remote requires 2 presses of factory unlock button. Hope that helps a little.

Best thing to do is to have the electrical/starting system load tested at any auto parts store usually done for free. Next thing, call your local Acura dealership and have them check your VIN#......if the recall items are still open, have them perform the recall work for free, compliments Acura.

As far as the power remote, windows and locks.....maybe the switch, transmitter or multiplex control unit ?
Try doing a search of the site for help.

 

Sounds to me like a possible bad ground for the window switch or something else like a dead battery, The part where the car dies could just be ignition switch also check the battery terminals, check for play in the ignition switch while the car is on if it turns off and the dash lights are off at the same time its definitely the ignition switch replace it with a new one. Has the car been involved in a flood ? you might want to check the ground points under the front passenger and driver seat. Before replacing any parts test them Hope it helps

 

The Alarm control only Unlocks the Driver Door with 1 Click.. You must click it Twice to unlock all doors...
