New TL owner checking in

Just acquired a 2000 TL (black) from work. It has all the options except memory seating and navigation. It is about to turn over 90000 miles soon. I am new to the vehicle but I have done alot of research. I normally frequent the ITR forum @ honda-tech.com. My other car is a 2000 PY ITR #748. I needed something a bit more practical.

My TL drives perfect. It needs a little TLC:

1) tires/alignment - just ordered some new Falken 205-60-16 ZE912-V $289 shipped/ alignment free
2) hood shock - not yet ordered
3) good exterior detail, interior mats - doing away with the floor mats and purchased Acura all weather mats $45 shipped for all 4
4) ac transistor/fan - ordered the transistor because the fan/ac is not blowing out, ordered the fan due to preventative maintenance $86 shipped for borth
5) both cabin filters = $22/pair
6) motor mounts - I hear a clunk, Ive done my searching and it appears to be only
one, however I ordered all 5 to make sure $199 shipped
7) tint - $65.00

The above cost so far is $706.00. All the work will be performed by me.

I acquired the vehicle for $3307.77 after TTL.

Total cost to date for a perfectly working TL is $4013.77

I will attempt to reset the SRS light through an archive here but its more than likely going to visit the Acura dealership shortly after.

The transmission has not been replaced but a service advisor stated that the warranty was extended to 150,000 miles, but he did not state a term? Archives here state 7 year/100,000 mile, did I misunderstand him? Is there anything I can do to replace the transmission under Acura's umbrella even though it hasnt showed symptoms?

Is the transmision issue a "hit or miss" type situation?

It's a "greatly exaggerated" situation. Listen, this is a tech help forum. There is going to be a greater percentage of people with transmission problems here than in the whole of the Acura TL world. Only 1-2% of the TL's have transmission problems, but hanging out here, you'll read such statements such as "every" TL will have transmission failure. Some people have had unfortunate experiences (such as having a transmission replaced 2 or 3 times), but they are in the absolute minority, a mere fraction of a percent of TL owners.

In any event, the extended warranty is 100,000 miles or 7 years from the date of purchase, whichever comes first. If you transmission is asymptomatic at the time the extended warranty runs, I doubt you'll be able to convince your dealer to replace your transmission. If it fails after the warranty period, you might be able to get a replacement at a reduced cost as a "goodwill" gesture from American Honda or your dealer.

Change the plugs!!! What I thought was a transmission issue must have been misfiring. New plugs @ 90K and all is well again.
