New TL owner!
Whats up guys? So i'm the new kid on the block. About three weeks ago I totaled my '94 Back Legend GS. So I was in the market for a new car. Guess what I bought? I got a '99 Laguna Green TL. I love the car a lot. The dude I bought the TL from had every single service record and took very good care of this car. It has i think one scratch on it, only about an inch long. There a small wear patch on the side bolster of the drivers seat. And the cupholder flap things are broken. Thats about it. I just threw some '07 TL rims on it this afternoon, I looove the look. And I still need to hook up my ipod to my head unit. In my legend I had an alpine hu and I loved the direct connection and miss it. But I like the stock TL head unit, so I need to find something to hook it to the factory one. Ill post some pictures as soon as I take some. We're supposed to get some wintry mix tomorrow, so Idk if I can get any tomorrow.

Welcome
Check your service records
See thread Seafoamed the ol TL for a great tune up in can service
Have the trans fluid flushed
Use NGK Iridium Plugs
Use only 91 or higher gasoline
Most of the things for the TL are total DIY projects with very good instructions found in this forum.
Spend time just going thru the 2nd gen section and you will know all about your car
Enjoy your new ride!

see if you can get the alpine back. if not might be worth it to grab a new one. took my alpine out of the truck and into the car. also did the sub/aftermarket h/u mod. neither really difficult just a little time consuming

Welcome!
This is absolutely the best place to learn all about your TL.
How many miles on your TL?
For future reference, transmission fluid flushes are not typically recommended for the 2nd gen TLs. Drain and fill instead.
The transmissions in these cars have reliability problems but the 4-speed model used in your 1999 TL is more reliable than the 5-speed model used in the 2000-2003 TLs. (The original transmission in my 1999 TL made it to 173,000 miles.)
Depending your car's mileage and when it was purchased, you might actually have extended warranty coverage for your transmission. There's a 109,000 mile, 7 year 9 month extended warranty on the tranmission. (Cars with salvage titles are not covered.)
You can hook up your iPod with adapters that hook up to the back of the OEM radio. Blitzsafe makes a popular model for the TL.
Register your car online with Acura and you can find if all the recall items have been completed. For example, there was an ignition switch recall for the 1999 TLs.
You will probably find that your OEM radio will not play burned CD-Rs. That's probably not a big deal if you have an iPod. If you like the look of the stock radio and you want to play CD-Rs, you can upgrade to the 2003-2003 Radio/6-disc changer. It looks very much the same and it plays CD-Rs without problems.
