I just got a 2000 3.2 tl and i can't stand the sound system but i do not have much money to spend right now. What would be the best thing for me to do? I am looking to spend about 400$ now if i could, then up to 600$ more at a later time. I atleast want a 12 inch sub. and a 800+ watt amp

first of all - welcome to acurazine

get a new head unit first and please search around the forms hear. afterwards get all new door speakers and a box sub set up. there are DYIs on here on how to do it urself just search.

First thing to do is get rid of the POS headunit. Then like you said get a Sub and Amp.
