New plugs, ran great no codes, then lost gauges now no start
I am at the end of my rope with my daughters 03 S. Was stumbling bad so I pulled the codes. Misfire on all but CYL3. Pulled plugs to inspect and all were at .080 or more! Did new cheap copper plugs yesterday and she ran like a champ! even drove it a few miles just to be sure. Car sat for a few hours before driven again and then when driven all the gauges were gone and wouldn't shift past 2nd gear. Read as many things as I could find on the net and started at the basics, fuses, ohm'n relays etc, nothing. As I was testing them I tried to start it every other one to see if the gauges came back and then.. not start at all!! Turns over fine but zero catch. Disco'd the battery for 30min also. Please help, I need my truck back from my daughter! TIA

Update
It decided to start out of the blue. I could not get a OBD2 scanner link before it started but can now and am getting a 1705. TPS. Still have no gauges and the only fuses that have no pwr are: the pwr window fuses on the pass side inside and the "MTR CHECK" in the small box near the battery. I am stumped, please help!

Interesting. The P1705 is a neutral safety switch short. So it sounds like a short. Did you check the wire bundle leading to the neutral safety switch? Check all wires around the areas where you were working. Do you have the service manual? Here is the link.
Neutral safety switch is under the cover at the end of the arrow.

So out of the blue she decided to start! Guess maybe the NSS is going bad or bad connection. Still didn't have gauges, windows or shifting past 2nd. Decided to go back through the fuses after reading on another site about the gauge/rvrs light fuse and damn if it wasn't blown! I swear it wasn't when I first went through em. She's back on the road but I'm loosing trust in the old girl. Going to look at a truck for my daughter and will probably let the car go. Thanks again for the info!

You should go in direction what is making misfire at all plugs except one in beginning. Same thing is blowing fuses. I own g3 now and not willing to dig into it just my 2c. It is electrical problem obviously.

Skoots, this is not a problem someone is going to be able to tell you exactly what and where it is, it is a problem that needs troubleshooting based on what data you find while testing. first you have a have a short that is blowing fuses, look for damaged, or loose wires or connectors. Also, look for burns, crushed wires etc. It might only occur when the engine is hot as expansion occurs. Inspect visually, use an ohm meter. I would start tracing the electrical lines that are part of the fuses that are blowing. Make sure you replace the fuses with the proper ratings. Sorry I can't pinpoint the problem but problems like this requires the vehicle to be specific.
I would use the recommended denso or NKG plugs PZFR5F-11 or PKJ16CR-L11 gap.039-.043in or 1.0-1.1mm See page 4-17 in the service manual.

^^^ You need to start playing with voltmeter around. Can be short in wires to. Here is my tread at ford forum to give you some idea how to investigate. If you can not do hire some mobile mechanic experienced in electrical problems. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...g-problem.html You have electrical problem and you will not solve it without voltmeter.
