New Passenger Side Air Bag Cover - Wrong Color!
After a month of waiting for the part, I had my passenger side air bag (SRS) replaced yesterday because the cover was bulging out on one side (they have to replace the whole airbag evidently). When I looked at the new cover this morning in sunlight (I picked up my car at night), I noticed that the cover doesn't match the rest of the dash. I have the Black interior, and the new SRS cover is a medium-dark gray! It is real obvious that it doesn't match in direct sunlight. My original one was black so what's going on? Considering that the TL isn't available with a gray interior, are all replacement air bags this color? Did the dealership mess up or is it Acura's fault for not bothering to offer a black cover to match the black interior? Anyone else out there with a similar experience?

Weird..... You know I think your resale goes down if you don't have the original bags. But since one was defective or the cover was that shouldn't hurt I would hope, just you'll have to disclose that at a sale. I wonder if they ordered the wrong one, there is a green interior on the TL available, but ended in 2001. I wonder if the Odyssey or something shares the same bag, it's available in a grey.

Yeah just tell them it doesnt match and they have to replace it.
Dealers barely check the car for dings and dents, i'd like to see a dealer that checks the airbags to see if they were replaced.

The airbag cover is definitely a dark gray - not green and not the gray that is available on the Odyssey. I think it is the result of a bad color match by Acura on the part, and is not the dealer's fault or a wrong part.
Update: I used Armor All on the whole dash, and with the "wet" look, it seems to match better (though still not completely) now. Maybe it has to "cure" in the sun? I will give it a couple of days to see if the color match improves.
