Question New Owner, Navi Question

We picked up my wife's new TL Monday and yesterday she tried to learn how to use the Navi system without using the manual. To make a long story short, while trying to figure something out she set both user PINs and has no idea what they are (I have no idea how she managed this one). The manual does not mention how to correct this. Is there a way to reset the users or do we have to take it into the dealership?

By the way, I frequent another board for my car and at am looking forward to sharing experiences on this board as well.

TIA

Ohh, Sounds like a problem. I would bring it to the dealer if it is that new.

You should have the master navi password for your car. It should be with your manual. Also there should be a sticker on the inside of the glove box with it depending on were your dealer stuck it.

Quickest way is to unplug it and use master pass.

I have the theft code. Are you referring to unplugging a wire harness in the trunk or is there another place to unplug it?

Its in the manual so i have to look. Your theft code doesnt override the user code?

I had a similar situation when I got the car- someone at the dealer had programmed passwords and failed to tell me. The code from the manual overrides any personal code, so just go to change the user code and use the manual's security code as PW. Hope that makes sense.

You could always disconnect the battery and then reconnect it. This would send both the radio and the navi unit back to their original setting. Then you would just have to re-enter the radio and navi anti-theft codes.
