New neon SRT4 will smoke us

Ok, this will be emberrasing. A $19k car that does 0-60 in 5.9 seconds and will more then likely pull on us from 0-60. I would never buy it but still will be a fast little car.

that is at the wheels! That is higher than the advertised crank hp and tq. I don't think the production car will be as agressive, but it will still be very fast I'm sure.

Neon Are just Ghey.. They make your look like your poor.. They are too toyish looking... I would never get a Neon unless its beating SLK Mercedes or something and had like 500 HP... I mean no matter what..
Even if you get a neon and you are smoking corvettes... the matter of the fact is after all you are still in a f(_)CKING NEON..

It's all about marketing, folks. It looks like Dodge is trying to position something against the Subaru WRX.

whats the price tag on one of those? plus if its anything like the WRX, the TL still has a nicer name attached to it and its quite luxurious... if one guy in a neon pulls up next to u, just act snobby and act like ure too good to race (though u know ull get whopped on)

As far as it compares to a subie...it's 65% of the weight over the front end doesn't help it handle like a WRX. Not to mention the WRX has AWD. This is typical american engineering...bigger displacement (than the other 4 banger turbo cars) and straight line power....nothing in the curves. Give Dodge some credit, they are making an effort to stay with the times and give people what they want.
This car might be the new teenager killer with performance like that in a little tiny car. There are going to be a lot of kids revving at stop lights in those things.

I Just saw a PT Cruiser Commercial, It Said theres a new PT Cruiser Thats Supercharged with 215 HP So I guess the PT Cruiser is also getting the same engine as the Neon.. I wonder if its gonna be 0-60 5.9 secs too.. ITS VERY SAID TO LOSE TO A PT CRUISER OR NEON... WHAT ARE WE COMING TO.. Acura better Realize whats happening and keep its honor by giving us a V8 w/ 6 Speed or something.

Why would acura care about the Neon or the PT Cruiser... Acuras aren't even remotely in the same calss. Amercian Honda would be the one that would need to stand up and throw some more HP in a civic/CRV or something.

I think it's funny how everyone is worried about the SRT. It'll be fast but so what? It has terrible quality, it'll be loud inside, it won't have any of the toys the TL/CL has and it must have some terrible torque steer. Who wants to do a daily commute or travel in rattle bucket death trap? Any car can be made to go fast with a turbo or supercharger -so what?

exactly...the article i read about did mention the torque steer being pretty bad.

They should throw atleast 200 hp in the civic SI and 160 in a civic DX. They really need to boost it. But they might want to keep the civic economical. That is why they dont want to add the extra hp.

we're paying for the A on our car...
when girls see 2 cars, a neon and a TL... u think theyre gonna say "wow, look at how face that SXT seems like itll be... that almost semi rich boy in the nice TL just doesnt have it"
gimme a break... girls dont know $hit (generally). either way our car is a sweeter ride and a hella lot nicer
