The dealer only has version 2.20 instock and hasn't received the 2.30 version yet. According to the parts department they should have it in about a month. So i'm working on another source of mine, will keep you updated.

I have a 2003 MDX with Navi and a 2004 TL with Navi. Never tried this but would it be possible to take the DVD out of my TL and use it in the MDX? That one year difference has a bunch of extra streets in my neighborhood so it would be nice to use my exact home address instead of something on the nearest street. If so, how do you remove the DVD?

Are the colors of the DVD label the same (orange - I think), then yes - it would work. The 2nd gen TL has a black DVD and is not compatible.

I just bought a 2002 tl with navi, but the problem is that the navi did not come with any dvd, so I am debating if I should buy the newest version which cost a "grip", or buy the older version for cheaper!! Please keep updating your info NYshadow!!!

good question. I had to come to Savannah, GA on business and this damn disc doesn't have savannah in there. I was going to rely solely on the navi system, but damn it all it wont work down here. Time for an upgrade!!!

Talking Yo

What do you mean hack the boot screen?

All you want to do is make a backup so if your disk gets scratched or if you get in a wreck or something happens you have a backup... I'd say it's a good idea to spend a few dollars on the storage medium vs having to shell out a couple hundred if something happens to your original.

I don't have the ability to make the backup because my computer sucks, so if someone could help me... I think that would be great : o )

Yeah, that is true. I mean, anything is possible. I havn't even looked at my navi disc on my computer, although I have version 2.03, which sucks ass and I think the next time I take it out of my navi drive, I'll walk it over to the trash can and tell it to have a nice life. Worthless piece of junk!

No that one is the orange DVD...that works for the third gen TL and other Hondas/Acuras it will not work in the second gen navi system.

The second gen TL uses a black DVD, and the latest version is 2.30

I was going to ask that question, has anybody tried the orange disc in the 2nd gen navi?

Hey everyone who's interested, I just went to the site today and this is what popped up when I started to make an order...

I wonder why they would be putting it on sale, but they better guarantee that there's nothing wrong with the disc.

check it out for yourself: https://iweb.alpine-usa.com/Acuradvdsales/naviorder.php

NOTE: For a limited time period (From May 1st to July 31st) we will be selling this disc for a reduced price of $149.00. As of August 1st the price returns to $185.
Disclaimer: Promotion period and price may change without prior notification.

If I bought it would they let me return it if I made a copy of it? I just bought a new DL burner and am ready to give it a try. I would be willing to sell copies to anyone wanting to try it out before they buy.

It should be illegal to charge 185 bucks for a DVD...please don't get rightcheous on me about doing illegal things like you have never sped or done something illegal. I am not trying to do anything illegal here, everyone else has been talking about doing the exact same thing. I most likely wouldn't return it, but was just curious if people had.
