Is the new navi software out yet? I read through all the post and didn't see any mention of it. I have a 2002(april)Tl-type S and my son has a newer version of His 2002Tltype S(sept. make). I keyed in several queries for restuarants that have been open 2 or 3 yrs. in Dallas area and no info on either version. I was told a year ago that this yrs. may be quite upgraded compared to most yrs. Any truth to this..

I hope the new DVD when it does come out that it will also update the software. Looks like this is just like the Navi in the Accord.

 

ok so were do we get this software upgrade, cause i now the Navi in teh new accords is voice activated and very much upgraded compared to our systems

 

Over at the ********** site....someone has posted a video on the new voice activated Acura MDX nav...

It has a 7 inch widescreen with new software.

 

I don't think you could add voice activation just by a software revision to an old system such as my 2002 TL as there is no mic to pick up the voice.

 

what about the onstar?? it can be integrated with the NAVI since they both use the same syster to locate ur car??? just a thought

2.05 is the current version. We're all waiting for the next version, what ever the number. 2.05 has at least one "known bug", the lady's voice is often clipped when she first starts talking. This will be fixed in the new release. Can you say "free upgrade". I knew you could!

 

jbs, you think they will offer it as a free upgrade when they go for $150 a pop? I hope so...

I just got a 2003 TL Type S w/ Navi and my software version is 2.07....I just got the car on Saturday and the dealer told me that they finish building my car on 9/28. Hope this info helps anyone.

 

What?? I just paid $164 for a new disc and it was v2.05f. What version does it say on the disc itself? I ordered directly from the DVD hotline and they said the new version might not be out for a few good months. Next for sure he said. I'm going to complain if you got a newer version.

 

Since you seem to have the latest version can you tell us if you have any of the features that seem to be on the new Accord?

a.) 3D maps
b.) voice control (probably not...but I ask anyway)
c.) Large visual turn arrow on screen for upcoming turns.
d.) Every US road (the Accord is supposed to be compleate US Map)

 

I'd pay the $ just to get item d).

When you pay $34K for a car, have the car's Navi system serviced for over a week and the lady STILL doesn't talk right. YES it WILL be replaced for FREE. IT IS AN ACKNOWLEGED SOFTWARE BUG.

PS The rest of the Navi system works pretty good now, as it was hardware that was causing the major problems.

 

I called acura today regarding the new software. A new upgrade is supposed to be out in January.

My primary questions were:
(1) Will there be 3D maps on the navigation like the 03 MDX?
(2) Voice activation?

She said *probably* the new software would come with new graphic interface like the MDX. She also said we would not be able to have voice activation...

i want the 3d MAPS!! and the breadcrumbs!!

 

I thought the breadcrumbs are supposed to be included in 2.05.

 

The breadcrumbs were added in 2.04, but only the MDXs navi hardware can make use of them and display them on the screen. The TL navi ignores this info...
