Talking New Comptech Cat-Back Exhaust System Arrived

Hi everyone.
I've been counting days for this moment to join the Modded TLers Club!
Well, except for the K&N filter, this is my first mod ever in my life.. Its been quite
a bit since I received the parts (Maybe 4-5 days ago) but I'm finally getting this beautiful work of art installed on my car on monday.

To share with you guys, Here are some pics:

I was quite surprised at its size at first.
This stuff is pretty tall. But doesnt weigh too much, aroung 60 pounds?

Well packaged and protected with rather interesting "instant foam pack".

Here are the beautiful mufflers.. Shiny as hell

Close ups

B-Pipe

Oh man I really cant wait to put these things on the car.

By the way, I asked Acura Dealer to do the installation and they quoted to do it for $145 CAD so I'm going for it. However one of the Comptech Dealer: Acura Woodbine (Ontario) quoted $175 CAD.. I hope they do a good job though.

I'll keep you guys posted!

Cheers!

If you want to keep the header rust free, coat it with Jethot cermaic high temperature coating. See this Comptech header on black market.

I see comptech changed the design of the mufflers. They are no longer straight thru, they are offset in center out. No loud tip inserts for you.

why bring it in to install. Its a easy install

I wanted to do it my self but my family and girl friend stopped me from doing so. They said it was too dangerous..

I guess I'll just avoid worrying them

Thats kind of expensive for an install for exhaust. It should be less than $100.

How can it fall on you? Unless you're Fat Bastard, there's no need to jack up the car, you can crawl underneath it.

If your car isn't lowered, you can crawl underneath it. Although, jacking it up, and placing jackstand under it, will give you more room to work.

Save the money go buy jackstands instead. Installing exhaust is very easy, not dangerous at all if you know how to jack a car up and put stands under it in the right spots

where do u live?
come to scarborough and i can hook u up for 60 dollars tax in, that's where my garage is located at

it's a perfect fit bolt on so it's damn easy, and there won't be a fitment problem at all because the comptech system is more expensive

don't worry about the fitment, it's a comptech and this is what you paid for

the muffers have a 2" piping and 2.5" for the b-pipe, and the tip outlet is 3.5" for the 2nd gen TL, the new TL has a 4" tip

it will fit absolutely perfect like stock, you will probably want some new screws (they should come with some new ones for u)

you dun have a header or intake, so don't expect a lot of gain from the exhaust....and it's not that noisy as well...it's only a little bit noiser than the 350Z or G35

What do you do if the bolts are too rusted to take out the stock exhaust? Torching wouldn't help at all with mine

I used heat and a 500 ft lb impact wrench to try and install my axlebacks. I took it to Midas and they had to torch them off.
